I know German food, and this was close enough. We went on a 40 year old recommendation from my brother and it was spot on. This low key cafe with good home cooking was not a disappointment. I had the Fri./Sat. lunch special with house made sausage (4 large pieces 2 of which were taken home) served with sauerkraut, green beans, and mashed potatoes. Delish! The wife had a cheeseburger with beer battered onion rings... also very good. All reasonably priced. After eating we stepped over to the store and bought several smoked meat items and assorted kolaches.
Bottom line, this was worth the 40 year wait.

Loved this quaint place in small town texas. We went there to have lunch and pickup some smoked porkchops for home. Should have bought some sausage as well. Chicken fried pork had cutlet prepared there tender and excellent. Some of our group had sausage platter they loved it another had hamburger steak good too. Homemade style bread with it all tops it all of. Restaurant on one side store on other to buy meats sauces etc sbd dont forget the kolaches bought 4 wish we had more.

I am a Zabcik, born and raised. As long as we’ve had reunions, I’ve had the joys of stops at Greene’s. As a kid, when I actually ate sausages, it was great to have eyes bigger than my stomach. I sorta grew out of eating processed/cut up meat, but Greene’s always managed to be a place I enjoyed visiting anyway, and I think that really says something about a sausage house!

My husband and I stopped in to get sausages for a weekend bbq. We decided to have lunch. We both ordered the catfish platter. The catfish was well seasoned….the best we had in this area. The cole slaw was very good as well. Different than your traditional mayo coleslaw. It was clear with a vinegar base. Sooo…goood!!!!
Service was a little slow on Friday afternoon. But it was worth the wait!

We have often had lunch in the restaurant at Greens but the weather was good and we decided to pick up picnic supplies and lunch in the surrounding farm land. We purchased great cured ham and sausage, cheese, chips and Kolaches and had a great picnic watching the cattle.graze in the fields. Great location for such an outing and there is a wide variety of meats and cheeses in the deli. Highly recommend this activity in the Central Texas farm lands!

I do not say that lightly. I cooked thousands of omelettes in my life, offshore rig catering and at IHOP. Everything about it was perfect. I sent 20% back to Arthur, who cooked it. Completely aside from that, AUTHENTIC Kolaches.

Greens’s Sausage House has it all. 1. Clean 2. Service 3. Reasonable Prices 4. Great food 5. Unique store to buy treats such as kolaches, cookies, smoked meats, old fashioned canned goods like grandma...ok, maybe great grandma used to make, steaks, bacon, you name it! This is a perfect example of my theory: If you provide people will come. People are more than happy to drive several miles and enjoy the scenery for the prize at the end. I love their fried catfish, yummy one of a kind potato salad and uniquely tasty slaw. I have wheat allergies so this is my standard meal that works for me. (Please do your own checking with them first.). It is always a treat. My husband loves the boudin balls and everything else. You can’t go wrong! You can’t leave without filling your pockets full of cookies and kolaches! Jump in your car and go treat yourself!

this place is outstanding! we went here due to the TA ratings and reviews and let me tell you it was an excellent dinner for under 15 bucks with a tip! i had the cole slaw which was excellent and you could tell it was freshly made in house. i ordered a sausage burger with Kraut and onion rings. the burger was the best sausage burger i've ever had. the onion rings were good. i cannot day enough good about this must dine at establishment. i just wish i could buy some of their sausage and bacon to take back to Indiana. do not pass this place up!

Delicious food, small town atmosphere cafe. Great service, kolaches amazing! Stopped in while traveling through area. Wanted a “mom & pop” place instead of a chain corporate restaurant. Lots of yummy looking sausages & meats in deli counter. Also canned goods.

Love the food, we stop every chance we get. Unfortunately the staff must be very bitter that it's the only place in town to work. They must not pay very well. We will continue to give them our money.

We went in for breakfast. Nothing they served was from their market.. Canned biscuits, yuck, sausage with no taste. They sell "homemade jelly". We got Jelly packs, yuck.
VERY DISAPPOINTED

This is a gem hiding in the country! We have been going to Greens for many years now and they are outstanding in service and hospitality. Highly recommend coming here and trying their kolaches and cookies! The meat market has the best bacon around.

So they take plain old Prairie Fresh St Louis style Spaeribs, just like you get at Sam's Club, and wrap them in their white Butcher Paper and put their ink stamp on. ?????? Disappointed.....

We stopped by for lunch last week and decided to give a try and order catfish and weren't disappointed, great flavor, well cooked. But the store has more than that, their kolaches are good and like other people says great variety of meats and sausage.
