The food was good and service good. The staff does not tell you they charge 3.5% if you use a credit card. $200 meal will cost $7.00 for the privilege of charging. Take cash unless you wish to pay for using a credit card.

We had forgotten how good the food served here tastes. We came for a date night, and the ambiance, greeter, server, and meal were all just perfect. Only I had a glass of red wine, a GSM, but reviewing the wine menu was great entertainment waiting for our meals.

This is our first time to visit Pignetti's and will definitely be returning. We came for our 5th wedding anniversary and was treated with the best service by Ken, our waiter. We started with the artichoke burrata al forno appetizer, which was incredible. My wife had the eggplant rollatini, I had the lobster ravioli and we finished with a fantastic creme brulee. Ken also helped us choose the perfect wine for the evening. It was just the perfect anniversary experience. Definitely recommend.

Food at Pignetti's is always superior. However....... They've taken to being on the "cheap" side when it comes to service. i.e. They charge 3.5% for "credit card processing fee". Something I have never ever seen in an up-scale restaurant. They are charging $3 for "bread service" at the table. In past visits, I always was served a selection of breads along with a full bottle of dipping sauce, and was given more if I so desired. The waitstaff is not nearly as pleasant as I have experienced in the past. Don't know if the ownership has changed hands or is simply not paying attention. I travel an hour and a half to frequent this establishment and am starting to think it may not be worth the trip any more. Sorry to say all of this as I have always raved about Pignetti's to all my friends and acquaintances. Hopefully things will improve as I have not quite written them off.

This place has always been great to us and about once a month my partner and I like to splurge on our date night and pignettis has always been our spot. If we have family or friends coming in town we always take them here! Unfortunately, tonight we decided to call in some takeout to celebrate our anniversary and I ordered the butternut squash, as I always do because it’s amazing, and my partner orders the triple delight. When he went to pick it up the hostess told him she called him and they dont have the butternut squash on the menu anymore and to pick something else.( Even though it was still on the menu and he definitely did not receive any phone calls) anyways, so I ordered the fettuccine pignetti, which i used to get and it’s typically great! They told us it would be ready in 20mins so we come back 20mins later and the hostess looked surprised to see us and immediately went into the kitchen and talked to the chef and then hid from us for another 10-15mins. Then came out and handed us the bag. When i got home and started to eat my fettuccine, and now I was upset because it really seem as though they forgot my order and rushed to make it because my chicken was unbelievably rubbery, I couldn’t eat any of it. And the sauce was already separated and mostly oil. The fettuccine was also very mushy and over cooked. Such a disappointment, i used to love this place but it really did not feel like they cared about the quality of their food and just getting us out of the restaurant after several different disappointments. We will not be coming back. We’re on a budget but they were worth the splurge but now with such horrible consistency not sure I can spend my money here.

Disappointing meal. Average food, poorly cooked - especially the fish that was overdone on two dishes. Overpriced for the quality of the food, and the room was overcrowded and noisy. Wine was quite good though.

This place is great for work meetings. The food and atmosphere are awesome. They have a wide variety and options for everyone. One year we purchased a sheet of their lasagna to feed a big family get together. It couldn't have worked better.

The service was terrible! The food is way overpriced, and the portion sizes would be a kid's size at a similar restaurant. You practically have to negotiate your way around wine crates to be seated, which is definitely a fire hazard. Sadly, Olive Garden is much better!

What a wonderful place for excellent good. We started with a cheesy crab dip served with small slices of french bread. Complimentary bread was also served with a lovely seasoned oil made in house. I had a lasagna made with ground Ribeye. I added a green salad on the side. Lasagna was very rich and so yummy. My sister ordered the MAHI MAHI. Pan crusted served with a lobster butter sauce. Plated with risotto and lovely green and yellow squash. My brother in law had the best dish on the menu. Veal Portofino. It came with risotto. Shtimp, scallops and seasoned veggies. We will go back...many many many more times. Super delicious. A special shout out to our server, VALERIE! She was very helpful in helping us make our selections!

This place is amazing. Family owned, traditional Italian. The wine list is probably the best in central Texas, and does not over charge--- we had a 2015 Cadillac for $36. While Gordon Ramsey might say the food menu has too many options, that just means you can get all kinds of combinations. The service was phenomenal. If I lived in Temple I would probably live in this restaurant.

Very comfortable and cozy feeling Italian restaurant in downtown Temple. They have an enormous wine list ( and you are surrounded by cases and racks of wine all over the restaurant). Unfortunately the wine lists don’t accurately reflect the current wines in stock and we had a bit of a struggle picking out a wine because of that. However the staff including the owner all pitched in and a suitable bottle was chosen. The wine prices are phenomenal. This is the place to try high quality wines with only a small markup unlike most high end restaurants where wines are routinely priced 3 times their worth. The food was exceptional as was the service. A very pleasant and rewarding dining experience

We had dinner here while visiting a friend from Temple. Thought the ambiance was nice and there was a good size crowd for a Monday night but I thought the food was just OK. I had a pepperoni pizza but was disappointed that there didn’t seem to be much/any sauce - just way too much cheese. My significant other had scampi - the pasta was way over cooked but the shrimp were very good. Our friend had the fettuccine Pignetti and she enjoyed it. We shared an appetizer of Lump Crab Avocado Bruschetta and I thought it was pretty bland. Our server was friendly and helpful, making it an enjoyable dining experience.

My wife and I went to Pignetti's for a late lunch. I had planned on getting my usual braised beef and mushroom stroganoff and she was planning to get her usual eggplant rollatini. Well, we opted for a change . I ordered the ribeye meatloaf and she ordered the grilled salmon. We loved the meal. Both came with grilled veggies (squash, bell peppers, onions, zucchini) and they were cooked and seasoned perfectly. My meatloaf was fantastic (better than I have ever had). My wife said her salmon was cooked perfectly and the lemon-dill sauce was outstanding. There was an osso buco gravy with the Ribeye Meatloaf ... and it was heavenly. If they paired it as a hot dipping sauce for their great bread - that would have been even more phenomenal ! The service was exceptionally great. This excellent restaurant is highly recommended.

My wife and I went to Pignettis the day before Valentines Day as a special treat for both of us. We had a 7:15 reservation and were there by 7:10. The host or manager was seated at the host station and after an awkward several minutes of silence while he read his phone he simply looked up and said “yes?” With some. Exasperation. We should have left then. He looked around and said it would be a few minutes before our table would be ready. There were several empty tables so we figured it wouldn’t take long. We decided to sit at the bar and wait. After sitting there for 22 minutes, the bartender finally acknowledged our presence and asked “you want a drink?” Now I’m thinking this place is not for regular folks even though we were dressed very nice. Finally got the bartender to help us. I ordered a bourbon my wife want a peach balleni. They didn’t have the peach balleni so she ordered just water. I got my bourbon but my wife never got her water. We finally were seated at one of the tables that was empty when we arrived at 7:40. We ordered the Italian sausage and peppers. Mine was just ok, my wife’s was cold. It took another 20 minutes to get our check. With a reservation for 7:15 we finally left at almost 9pm. Horrible manager, bartender and food. But the waiter seemed kind. Save your money and go to Portofinos or Olive Garder.

Group of us ladies enjoyed the meal and some wine. Staff was great, very helpful and personable. I had the veal picatta, which was excellent. They had great wine and the server was knowledgeable about the wine. Atmosphere was wonderful for both families and couples. Will definitely be back.
