Earlier this week, I visited Taylor, TX for the first time to attend an ERCOT meeting and had the good fortune to stop at Louie Mueller's Barbecue for lunch. We arrived for lunch when they opened at 11:00 and beat the crowd. The brisket was offered "dry" or "moist". I ordered the moist and was not disappointed. The smoke flavor... More

One of the best Bar BQ restaurants I have ever been to. Get there early to avoid the crowd. We arrived at 11:15 AM and was in line for about 15 min. The employees were very polite and helpful. I had the pork ribs and a slice of brisket. Both were very tender and tasty I'll return soon

The atmosphere is really great and the food is really good. You can't visit Taylor without trying the great Louie Miller Barbecue. Get there early as the line can get pretty long around noontime. The brisket and pork ribs are the best. Expect pure Texas Bar B Que not Kansas City.

If you have not eaten bar-b-que here you have not eaten real bar-b-que. Be prepared to go back 75 years. Do not leave without a beef rib. All is good and a fun place to eat.

Cruise through Taylor, Texas outside of Austin and you have got to make the turn on to Second St and step back in time! Sometimes the lines can be long but try on a week day if you can. Also try for a cool day because no A/C. Great BBQ served old school on butcher paper. Sauce is vinegar based... More

Saw this Bar B Q place on Diners Drive Ins and Dives. We ordered brisket, pork ribs and their handmade sausage. All the meats were very good. The servers are very friendly and prices are ok. We did not however like the sauce, which is on the side nor did we like the potato salad. The place isn't air conditioned.... More

Wonderful moist brisket! Potato salad was good but didn't care for Cole slaw. Hot peach cobbler with blue bell...yes!! NO A/C....its hot in Texas in almost July. Still worth the stop.

I'm a Texas BBQ aficionado, but I had never entered the church of smoked meat that is Mueller's until last week and I was blown away. Yes, we waited in line for an hour in 90 degree heat in an un-air-conditioned barn, and it was OMG so worth it. Every person who walked by us with their huge portion of... More

When we were in Taylor last November we were introduced to Louie Mueller's Barbecue. We loved the brisket sandwich so much, not to mention the peach cobbler, that we made a special effort to come back through Taylor, just for a sandwich!

This is a great place for Texas barbecue. Real Texas barbecue. The walls and ceilings are smoke stained and the floorboards are creaky. Come early and avoid the lines. Try the brisket or if you're really hungry, one of the beef ribs and you'll soon discover why this is consistently one of Texas Monthly's top five BBQ joints.
