We ate at Ragin' Cajun in Sugar Land, TX a long time ago and it was expensive and not very good. Well, it's still pricey, but the food is now much better. The ambiance is corner bar with 7 or 8 TV's, lots of photos, sports memorabilia, and neon beer signs. Dishes sampled were the BBQ'd shrimp, shrimp & crab... More

Haven't been to the SL location in a while, since they've closed off the old dining area. Managed to find the back 6 seat table available on a Friday night at 6:30 pm. As always, loud and crowded, but that's why you go here. Service was good, a bit slow due to the crowd. Ordered one of their Bloody Mary's,... More

Despite mixed reviews decided to try the raging Cajun as i was staying the area and in summary pretty average with pretty average service. Food OK. Agree with other reviews this is just a bar with food. Service slow to start but food came OK. Grilled oysters were average and when the gumbo arrived it was the wrong one but... More

I haven't been here since they reduced the footprint. It feels more like a bar than a restaurant, with a long bar and a row of booths against the wall. Plenty of TV sets. But unlike a bar it's got really good cajun food. My wife and I had the red beans and rice and a boudin link. Both were... More

The Ragin Cajun is an awesome place for gumbo! All of the rest of the food is excellent as well, but I really love their gumbo. The wait staff is excellent and there is always load music to rock out to!

First, the food is about 25% over priced. I had the catfish, shrimp, oysters. $20. The catfish was good but the oysters and shrimp were way undersized and over cooked. The oysters were also not at all fresh and tasted bad. This is a sad excuse for a cajun food.

Our first time here! Great Service and food was excellent. The shrimp & Crab gumbo was great! I should have gotten a bowl instead of a cup. we has the Boudin balls were HOT & Fresh. All the seafood we had was served up hot and fresh.

Ragin’ Cajun is a Houston landmark as far as I am concerned. I had my first experience back in 1994 during a graduation party at the original location. That was the first of at least a hundred trips since. Just to give you an idea, I have been living in Southern California for about 10 years; but every time I... More
