My husband and I ate here last night and everything was delicious. The atmosphere, food, and our server Jose, were all great. I highly recommend this place if you love Italian food like we do. I would call ahead next time and reserve a table...outside in their beautiful patio. The inside dining was cozy and pleasant but the patio looked amazing.More
We loved every bit of the food and drinks we got here that night. Felt the price was worth it. Gnocchi with tomato sauce and a Coke. Spaghetti and meatballs and a martini. Excellent! One of our group continued her quest for the best lasagna...anywhere and may have found the best so far here. She also had a martini. I had Cobb Salad with chicken and tea. Everything was so good we had to have dessert…two desserts! Cannoli and cheesecake. Both to die for. We felt this was one of the best restaurants we'd ever eaten at...great service as well.More
What a great place. We ordered shrimp scampi and an 8” meat liver pizza with spicy sausage. Both were delicious but the pizza was excellent!!! Then we were about to pay and our waiter, Javiar, suggested their homemade cheesecake with strawberries and whipped cream. It...was wonderful. What a nice meal. I could not keep from noticing the Christmas decorations in SEPTEMBER! Awful. $40 would buy some Fall leaf garlands to run across the booth deciders instead of Christmas ones. And the nig red sparkly bow attached to the wall. Little details DO make a difference. Thank heaven the food was good.More
Who would turn down 1/2 price wine? Not us. Thats what got us in the door. Once we were there the decor (we ate outside) was wonderful - comfortable and inviting. Our server, Javier, was one of the best we've ever had at any restaurant...(and we've been to many high dollar places around the world). He was attentive and had awesome suggestions that turned out to be spot on. The food was incredible - hot ciabatta bread, homemade pasta and some of the best Italian sausage we've ever had. Desert was a piece of chocolate cake that could have fed the Dallas Cowboys with leftovers. I can't recommend this place enough - an all-around wonderful dining experience that should not be missed when you visit South Padre Island.More
Great service, great tasting menu items. Fast prep and excellent service. We ate dinner at 5:30pm and got seated right away - started getting busy around 6:30pm on a Sunday night. Calamari, lobster ravioli and the sausage Milano were all delicious.
Great Dining Establishment! Cozy and quaint. Love the intimate atmosphere. Service prompt, attentive and outstanding. Did not disappoint. Linguini and clams a huge delicious portion! From the fresh brewed tea, to the homemade pasta, to the most oversized piece of delectable cheesecake to the coffee…this...place was an oasis on the island after being referred to Firty Als the night before. And price ridiculously reasonable for dinner for two at $71!More
The Meatball Cafe was an excellent choice for dinner with our group. Everyone's food was delicious, the bread and sun dried tomato and garlic butter was AMAZING! Our party was three large families with a kid and adult table, and we had late arriving guests...but our server, Bubba, handled everything with ease and kept all our orders and tickets straight! He did a great job making us all feel welcome and comfortable, and no one had an empty glass or a missing order. Would definitely come again!More
We have a picky eater in our family, and the Meatball Cafe was the only alfredo pizza we could find on the island. It normally comes as a specialty pizza, but they were awesome in making it plain for our picky son. Quick service and...great tasting pizza! Next time we are at SPI, we will dine in to experience more of theirs menu.More
Driving by we thought...just another dive restaurant on the island. The exterior might make one pass by. The island was crowded and we called the favorite haunts, no tables and long waits. We called the Meatball Cafe and found we could get right in. First,...the inside is amazing; a completely different persona then the facade. The wait staff was attentive, prompt and very polite. The food...amazing! Perhaps the best Italian cuisine we have had...well, maybe ever. This is a must stop on South Padre Island! In fact, we went back the next night and that says it all.More
