My wife had eaten here before with her sisters and thought it was very good, so we took our family there when we were visiting over the Thanksgiving holidays. It was at the entrance to Andy Bowie Park at the far west end of the island. Everyone loved what they ordered. My son-in-laws hamburger looked delicious, but I went with... More

Shrimp was stellar and portions very generous. My mom said, "The shrimp are great, the oysters are even better, and the fish is out of this world!" I was busy eating my shrimp. Best meal we had in South Padre.

We were in South Padre for only three nights during this visit. As always our first night includes a stop at Dirty Al's !! My wife and I got the fried shrimp basket. It was wonderful as usual !!

Truth be told, I'm not a seafood fan. I had chicken tenders and fries. They were ok. My GF is a seafood lover and she had eaten here in the past which prompted her visit. She had oysters with spinach and cheese, she says they were not good at all and that there was no comparison to her visit of... More

Loved the food and the price was very reasonable. Most definately coming back and bringing the kiddos. Remember to ask a local where Dirty Al's is at because it is at the far right side of Island as you get off the bridge. Well worth it!

We are here the first day on the island and it's the best place we went. The food and service were great and wet really enjoyed it. There are nicer/classier places we went, but we really enjoyed the recipient here!

This cafe doesn't look like much but it is bustling with people and the food is very good. We caught some red snapper and they cooked them to perfection. Just wish they had rice as a choice. Mostly grilled and fried food. Even fried pickles are great. We'll be back no doubt about it. Pretty crowded and noisy but beach... More

The food was good as well as the service. The fried shrimp is the best; however, just wish they offered baked potato with their entrees.

Food and service were ok but decor is severely lacking. Considering the overall condition of the "dining" area would hate to see the kitchen. Visited based on so many favorable reviews and location hoping to see dolphins in the harbor. Salad alternative to fries with the Shrimp Basket was a handful of limp lettuce and 2 slices of tomato and... More

Thank you for taking the time to review Dirty Al’s. Dirty Al’s is the original dive transformed from a bait stand into a restaurant, with a very casual atmosphere, where customers can walk right up from the beach. In keeping with that tradition, it is kept simple and fast paced. We look forward to your return. More

If you are expecting more than average, then you will be disappointed. Ate at Dirty Al's twice while on SPI. Not a good smell when you walk in. We ordered the Burger and Fried Shrimp the first night. Burger good. Shrimp OK. Second night had Fried Shrimp and Grilled Fish. Both OK. I was expecting better than "OK". We live... More

Description
About Us
Dirty Al’s has been in operation since 1986 and has always provided the freshest seafood to thousands of visitors from all over the world.
As a family owned and operated business, we have always taken great pride in taking care of each customer and providing them with a unique experience that they can only get from eating at Dirty Al’s. Dirty Al promises every customer that they will only be served the absolute freshest seafood caught in the wild off the Gulf of Mexico.
A Father and his Sons Make a Great Team!
Alfonso Salazar, better known as “Dirty Al” originally started shrimping as a young man with his father and 6 brothers. In 2003, he and his youngest son, Cameron, who graduated from Culinary School, transformed his bait stand into a restaurant where together they have been known for having “The World’s Best Fried Shrimp”! In 2005, his other two sons returned home to help grow the business. To this day, they now own 6 restaurants on beautiful South Padre Island and continue to bring only the “best” Gulf Seafood to each customer’s table.
