my last 2 visits - just average quality food, and it used to be great food. still, the food is good and better than a lot of the island cafes, and they have fun T shirts, and on-site brewery of 5 beers

The restaurant was next door to our hotel so we had to come in for lunch. Our waiter was a sweetheart and was very attentive. The beer and drinks were good. The food was excellent. We had appetizers and burgers and didn't find anything we didn't enjoy. They even brought out a free dessert for my birthday!

My boyfriend can never get enough seafood. Unfortunately I need more variety. This restaurant was a good choice to help me with that need. My boyfriend had a fried seafood combo platter. He liked the fish & shrimp but said the oysters tasted weird. I had a veggie burger with a side of cole slaw. I really enjoyed my meal.... More

Went for the craft beer. They had a blonde, wheat, 2 IPAs, a red, and a stout. I had the Tidal Wave, it was good and a ham and spinach calzone, delicious. Low key spot. I would come back.

Great place to drink local beer and to watch the Cowboys game. Not overly crowded because it was after Labor Day.

Ask for the Sampler to try the specialty beers that the offer. One is seasonal but the Wheat beer was my favorite! They offer pale aies to lagers and all were great and full body with great taste! We order the nachos for a snack and were enough for a meal. The food is made to order, so may take... More

The appetizers were excellent but the beer was not what I expected from a Brewery. The service was good.

This is one of my favorites restaurants in SPI, they have great service and the food is really good. Excellent local beer, try the Sampler Tray, love the beer bread and the chicken salad. We also tried the Crab Stuffed Flounder.

Description
"The gastropub movement is well-represented on South Padre Island at Padre Island Brewing Company. Rotating draft selections include several styles of handcrafted suds; Texas Long Board Lager, Tailing Red Amber, and Speckled Trout Stout are among my favorites, when available. If you can’t make up your mind, get the “Sampler Tray,” a tasting of all five beers currently on tap. The menu is extensive—“peel and eat” shrimp, spicy wings, and fried calamari are popular appetizers, as are the chips-and-guacamole combo, ceviche, and nachos. The bar has won an award for its pizza, but I recommend the burgers. If you’re really hungry, order the Texas Burger, a double-patty, one-pound monster topped with jalapenos, mushrooms, and cheese. From the seafood menu, beer-battered shrimp is an obvious choice, and the tuna and flounder are also excellent." From Texas Highways Magazine, June 2015
