We stumbled upon Cackle and Oink last year when we were driving through Sherman. Holy cow we were impressed! We consider ourselves food enthusiasts and are pretty darn hard on our reviews. Because if we are paying good money for food we expect it be worth eating, right? We literally drive from the Broken Bow, OK area just to eat here. IT IS THAT GOOD! All the meats are wonderful. My husband's favorites are the ribs and brisket. Mine are the turkey and sausage. When you place your order you will be asked if you want to add a sausage for $1.50....DO IT. Now we all know the side dishes at BBQ joints are always lacking. You usually have your standard potato salad, cole slaw, blah blah blah. Not here. You must get the jalapeno cornbread casserole. Brisket chili (if it's served that day), beans....IT IS ALL GOOD! The food is always spot on, the staff are friendly, and the owner is one cool dude! If you are having a hard time choosing a place to eat in the Texoma area make the drive to Sherman and eat here...it is worth it!

My Husband and I recently moved to the Sherman area. We have been on a hunt for great places to eat at in the area. This place is a hidden gem that not many have recommended to us, which is very surprising. We went for a late lunch date and instantly found our new BBQ place.
The owner greeted us and made us feel instantly welcome and offered suggestions for us to try the specials for the day. My husband ordered the pull pork special with the brisket gravy (which is straight from heaven), jalapeno sausage link, and cowboy beans with a side of cornbread casserole. I ordered a chopped beef brisket sandwich with a side of cowboy beans and jalapeno cornbread casserole. The food was fantastic! All of the portions are medium to large, which fills you up instantly. Basically, if you are looking for a BBQ place that has great flavor, spice, and puts a lot of love into their food, then this is the place for you!
Oh, and the sauces. I am a HUGE sauce/condiment person. Each sauce is completely different from one another and has several different spice levels. If you cant decide which one you love the most, just mix them all together and get after it! You wont be disappointed in this place!

I lived in Sherman for 7 months before I finally tried this gem. I’m quite the foodie. I can eat food and be satisfied, but I really appreciate GOOD food, and I know when I find it. Let me tell you, if you’re looking for GOOD BBQ, don’t even think about going to RibCrib until you’ve been here. This is the best BBQ in the area, and the best BBQ I have found outside of a local place back in my hometown. The owner took my order, and gave me some suggestions which I thoroughly enjoyed. I had the pulled pork sandwich served open face with a gravy they make once a week from the brisket drippings. For sides, I had cowboy beans and cornbread dressing. This was one of the best meals I’ve had since living here, and can’t wait to go back. Add in the smiles on everyone’s faces as they welcomed you in, it was just a fantastic experience all around.

Always greeted with many smiling faces behind the counter - everyone that works here is there to make your dining experience such a joy. Shelcey took our orders and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. Rom made sure not to skimp on the meat. Micah did the same with sides and took care of us after we were seated. Donna was working the drive thru, but made sure to give us a smile when we caught a glance. My wife and I eat here several times/month - never have we experienced anything but the best food and service in Sherman.

Not only is the BBQ enought to write home about, but the level of service can't be beat! The award winning sides are almost worth the trip without even talking about thos mouth watering ribs. This place is on my list of frequent places to get some good grub. I have tried everything they have to offer, and I haven't had a bad meal yet! Give them a try, you will NOT regret it.

You're treated like you're supposed to know their menu as soon as you walk in, even if nobody else is inside. We were so rushed to order immediately. The prices are absolutely astronomical, so we were trying to piece together what we wanted. We got a half pound of sliced brisket that was as dry as bacon slices, a half pound of pulled pork that seemed as if it were the scraped off remains from the inside of 3 day old crockpot leftovers. We also got a rack of ribs that were surprisingly very decent, but totally not worth the fortune they charged for them. To make it worse, the sauce starts at syrup sweet, and only gets sweeter the further down the display you go. Sickening sweet.

Long, long, long overdue rating for the absolute BEST BBQ place in Sherman, TX. We stumbled on the Cackle and Oink when we recently moved to Denison (which is right down the street).
They have "hands down" the greatest within easily 100 mile radius. My husband and I both swear by the ribs, the pulled pork is fantastic as are all the sides.
My personal fave is the brisket chili which is in the running for "what I would eat if I could only eat one dish for the rest of my life..."
Say "Hi" to D'lanie, Wes, and Chad whether you visit them inside or cruise through the authentic BBQ drive through window.
See you soon, Cackle and Oink, Rock Stars!

In Texas on business for 24 hours…we looked at the ratings and figured Cackle and Oink was a good bet. Boy, are we glad we did!
We walked in and were greeted by the friendly and wonderful AMY who gave us some suggestions as we made our selections. She then said we had to try the sweet heat pickles and gave us a sample. Delicious!
I had the pork ribs, brisket, sausage link, jalapeño casserole cornbread and green beans. The ribs were smoked perfectly with a great taste and feel. I easily cut the sliced brisket with my fork and it also was fantastic. The sausage link was flavorful and just what it should be.
At many barbecue places the sides are afterthoughts- not here. The jalapeño casserole cornbread was moist and tasty. The green beans were slow cooked with pork and seasonings and were great.
We ended up spending 1.5 hrs here just visiting and enjoying the good folks of Sherman.
Thanks Amy!

The name — clever— and other reviews as well as easy off 82 drew us in. I also like idea of a “family owned” restaurant. Though we are on our way home from a week in east TX, one more BBQ meal sounded good! We thought our meals: pulled pork sandwich/spicy sauce with potato salad and black eyed peas and pulled chicken/Plano sauce with coleslaw and green beans were delicious!
We also enjoyed the many signs e.g. “Cookin’ butt and taking names” and pigs reading chicken cookbooks, etc. the staff was friendly and efficient.
Would have been a 5 rating if they’d had catfish on the menu. 😁

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My husband and I decided to stop and eat at Cackle and Oink on our drive to Montana. What an awesome experience! Owner and world champ pit master “Big A” serves as Maitre d, clearing tables as guests finish eating to make room for you once your food is quickly plated up. The entire staff is very friendly and welcoming! Best brisket and pulled pork that we’ve ever had! Portions are very generous and filling! The flavorful juicy tender meats are perfect without sauce but Big A has a variety of sauces if you want to add some. Authentic Cajun red beans and rice were surprisingly delicious! Awesome experience!

This was our first time to try here we had the rare opportunity for a date night and we were craving some BBQ so thought we would give it a try!! Justin at the front counter was incredibly patient since I wasn’t sure what I wanted as it all sounded good, haha. Even when the customer behind us voiced his being annoyed Justin didn’t make me feel bad.
The food was FANTASTIC!!! I got the two meat (brisket and sausage) w/the jalapeño cornbread and green beans. My husband had the turkey sandwich. All of the meat had so much flavor and the brisket and turkey were moist and tender!! I highly recommend this restaurant!!

Stopped by on Wednesday for the special gravy day. High priced for Sherman, TX. Pork was a bit bland, but sooooo tender. The BBQ sauce made up for it. The smoke Mac and cheese was too smoky for my taste, and the baked beans were sugary sweet. The service was incredible. Friendly, engaging, and accommodating. Will definitely go back!

The pulled pork and briskit sandwichs were lacking in BBQ flavor. Even with their 'hot BBQ sauce', there wasn't the appeal I had expected from the reviews. Quick service at a busy lunch time but ... less hat, more cattle.

Went for lunch today. I give this place 5 stars!!! Desi, the cashier, was great! I tried what she recommended-- the turkey sandwich on lunch special w/ the smoked mac & cheese and the jalapeno cornbread casserole. I also picked up some extra jalapeno sausage & jalapeno pepper jack sausage to take home to my wife-- those were DELICIOUS (I had a bite)... I also tried a piece of chicken, it was super moist and packed with flavor! I definitely recommend this place. Don't forget to ask for Desi! (also pictured: the ribs!)
