I had the grilled chicken on rice. Ice cold beer, friendly service. This was my second time to eat here, will definitely be back.

We had a great meal...you come here for the food, not the ambiance! They were quite busy and service was a little slow at first, but the staff took care of us as quickly as they could. In spite of being busy, service was friendly, the food came out quickly and tasted great. Prices were quite reasonable, also.

Stopped for the tesla charging and decided to give this place a try. Had the chicken fried steak. Was good and the prices were reasonable. Will stop by next time I come through!

We didn't feel like stopping at one of the chain restaurants along I-40 in Amarillo so we pressed on to shamrock tx and stopped at Big Verns. The food was great. Friendly service. One of the best baked potatoes I've ever eaten. Try this place!

Started with a local beer. Then beef and vegetable soup (just like grandma used to make) and beer bread which was amazing. We ordered the 12oz rib eye with baked potato, caramelized onions and mushrooms. The steaks were perfectly cooked. 1 rare, 1 medium. Service and atmosphere was delightful and so were the locals dining there too. I forgot t... More

Stopped in kinda late to an almost empty restaurant. One entrance door was broken, and neither door had the HOURS of operation on them. We did not know if we were too late or not, just got motioned in by a waitress. Place looked a bit tired. By that time we had seen enough and left without even seating ourselves.....we... More

We arrived into town late, overnighting down the road at a cheap hotel. This was the only restaurant open other than some fast food, so we set our bar pretty low to be honest. It was probably a half hour or so before closing but the staff was friendly, chatty and not bothered at all that we were probably their... More

Here now and the bread muffins they give you as a appetizer are great. Make sure you eat them because getting your food will be awhile. The waitress was very nice like your grandmother but she served the food cold . Can't stand cold fries ! And the burger was good but hot it was not .

the perfect route 66 experience. Our steaks were excellent. Service was prompt and friendly. Everything to like about this place. I can see why people might say "dirty", but I think that's just character.

Just passing through and decided to try it. The steak was very good and the chicken was also very good. Cornbread was tasty and the salad was fresh. Service was good too. All around a great Texas restaurant experience.
