Great boudin balls! Etoufee was a bit cold but tasty. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. I’d go back again. Great Boudin ball's spiced perfectly although the crawfish etoufee was a bit on the cold side. Very friendly staff and good value.

The staff is accommodating and friendly. The food was excellent and the beer is cold! If you leave hungry, you did something wrong.

Seafood heaven. Drawn butter for everyone. My husband had the etouffee and he loved every bite. I had the sausage/medium and wished I had ordered more.

It’s hard to explain. I’m not usually one to complain much. My brother in law, sister in law, wife and I were driving through the area because my mother in law might be moving to the area. Researching places to eat, we came across Bubba’s Cajun. Being a Cajun myself, I was excited at the possibility of having some spiced seafood. The reviews here looked promising! We arrived around 3pm, which I guess was around shift change. I noted a lot of staff and they were very friendly! A plus. However, that is where any other plus would end. Sitting down at the bar (near the front door area), we eventually noted a musty rotten smell. We are not sure where the smell came from but it gradually came upon us the longer we sat. Looking at the menu, we decided to start with some gumbo and oysters. The menu showed raw oysters at market price, which is not uncommon. We also ordered some smoked oysters. The oysters came out quickly. The raw oysters were on a plate normally used for serving shrimp scampi. They were cool in temp. They were already cut, served without the shell, and just laying on this plate in a slimy liquid. Normally raw oysters served at market price are freshly shucked, not cut, served on ice to keep cold. This implied to me they were served from a jar, which meant NOT fresh. The smoked oysters were served the same except they were lukewarm with partially melted cheese on them… still not in their shell. My family and I actually became physically nauseous from the oysters and did not finish even half of them. While eating, we noticed the staff bringing in armfuls of lettuce. Carrying them up against their bodies, then laying them on the counter just in front of us. They were wearing gloves but the fact the lettuce were touching their clothes. Then, without washing the lettuce, staff starting chopping it up. Once chopped, they pulled out a large cylindrical plastic container with what appeared to be lettuce or salad already in it. Without taking out the old lettuce / salad, I watched as staff put the new lettuce on top of the old lettuce filling up the cylindrical plastic container. With everything we had seen, we decided to check out without getting the gumbo. It was to their credit that they forgot to charge us for the gumbo as it was not on the check. We were never charged for it. I rarely say this, but we do not recommend this restaurant. I cannot say I prefer any others in this small bayside town because we did not go to any others, but I know if we return to Seadrift we will be skipping Bubba’s.

This is Texas Gulf Coast dining at its finest. Laid back atmosphere with great service and Cajun specialties on the menu. If your in the area fishing. Or vacationing, definitely don’t miss this gem. And just go casual!

The service is wonderful here. They check on you often and bring items you ask for quickly. They have extremely large portions - you won't go away hungry. The popular item seemed to be the crawfish which they brought out in huge metal trays. I had the fried shrimp and it was excellent. The onion rings were good but the batter was a little too chewy and not crunchy. I prefer crunchy onion rings. Key Lime pie was delicious! I will definitely return again!

We had been out fishing in the bay all day and starving. We went to Bubbas for some good dinner. And yes, it was! We had some of everything. Calamari, Texas Toothpicks, Boudin Balls, Crab, Red Snapper, grilled blackened fish and shrimp and fried oysters, crab and fish. All of it was wonderful. This “ ain’t no fancy joint”. It it’s good Eatin’ ! We left nothing on our plates. Portions were large and filling. We will return when in the area. Go and enjoy.

Local “hole in the wall.” As you would expect this close to the water, the seafood is very fresh. However, its the combinations and spices that set this place apart from the rest. Not only is it full of flavor, but they bring a long of it. You definitely get your moneys worth. A little off the beaten path, but worth the detour.

To advertise as a cajun style one would expect the food to be seasoned cajun style, fried fish to me were bland, stuffed shrimp slightly better.

Atmosphere was great. Busy at lunch. Boils were great and the seafood platter. More than you can eat. Onion rings were great.

While staying in Indianola on a girls weekend trip, we decided to make a 30 minute road trip to Seafrift. Best decision ever! We ordered the Seafood Boil. Delicious corn on the cob, shrimp, sausage and potatoes boiled in a special seasoning! I’ve never had such good seafood! Highly recommend this place!!!

Bubba's is a non-pretentious seafood restaurant offering gumbo, friend seafood, and shrimp boils with choice of "heat." The large tables provide plenty of elbow room, even though you may need to wait for one if you arrive at peak times. The parking lot might be challenging for wheelchairs or canes since it is not paved.

A great place with a homestyle feeling. We ordered the boardwalk boil and a shrimp basket with onion rings. The boil was very good with a lot of shrimp and the shrimp basket good as well. Make sure you're hungry! Really enjoyed the whole experience. Glad we made the trip out to Seadrift, Texas.

Heading along the coast on 35. A few miles off the beaten path and totally worth it! Try Sal’s seafood spread as an appetizer! Yum! Had the shrimp boil and hubby has the fried fish and shrimp combo. Lightly breaded and not greasy. The boils had tons of shrimp. Enough to take home for another meal. We’ll come again! Worth driving out of our way!
