We stopped for lunch here after the Painted Churches tour, it was decidedly home cooking at it's finest. A must stop if you are near Schulenberg, Texas

We stopped in as I remember coming with my grandmother and her sister, my great aunt over 40 years ago. The place was clean, decor showing photos from the past of Frank's and the food!!! Excellent

My favorite stop going or coming from San Antonio / Austin and Houston. Good service, with many long time wait staff. Hamburgers get rave reviews, but their fried chicken like what Grandma made. Takes 23 minutes but it is good!!! The best item is their coconut meringue pie. They have a real good selection of locally baked breads too.

We both had a salad that was good. The waitress was exceptional and kept asking us if we were ok after giving us our order. We chose this place because it was right across the highway from where we were staying. There's a nice little gift shop and plenty of goodies like homemade pies and pralines for sale. Also, they... This is a family owned restaurant and the food and service are exceptional. The fried chicken fingers were light and tender. The homemade bread was tasty. The sausage platewith German potatoe salad was also over the top. They also sell their homemade breads and deserts. You can't miss with Frank's!

We had the shrimp dinner, which had a nice batter, but lacked any flavor. Needed much seasoning. Convenient to our hotel.

This is our second time stopping in here from Texas to Louisiana. I will never pass this highway without stopping in. We had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes yummmmy. They have the BEST pecan pie i ever ate in my life. They bake their pies fresh everyday. You must stop in and eat here breakfast or lunch.

Over the years we have often stopped at Frank's while driving between San Antonio and Houston. The food used to be very good, but it has gone downhill based on a recent visit. The service was adequate, but the food did not seem particularly fresh, and we kept grabbing the salt and pepper as everything was terribly underseasoned. The chicken... More

We were traveling and needed to stop for a late breakfast on a Sunday. We arrived at 1030, a d the restraunt was at about 25% calacity. We placed our order from a rather limited breakfast menu, and waited about 15 minutes for our food. It was plentiful, and reasonably priced. Maybe we would eat here again, only earlier next... More
