Have stopped here for years on the way to & from Houston. Much busier this visit than normally. Slow service--& we ordered quickly-fixed meals. Hadn't planned for an hour-plus stop. Food was ok. Has been better at times. Service was slow and a bit sloppy. Don't usually see that at Frank's. When finished eating it took more than 10 minutes... More

Hearty meaty choices, not a lot of appetizers or 'Fun' food for kids. The breakfast choice at 2 pm was 2 eggs, 3 strips of bacon and 2 pieces of toast (no potatoes) for 7.79. That is high in my opinion for an egg plate. They were huge, fresh, perfectly cooked eggs though and the place was quite busy. You... More

We stopped here on our way home from New Braunfels as there aren't a lot of choices along this particular stretch of highway and we were hungry. First impression; it's the restaurant that that the 60's /70's forgot. I'm guessing it hasn't been remodeled since it was built. Service was painfully slow and borderline incompetent. Forgot my wife's fries(never did... More

We stopped at Frank's for breakfast on our way back to San Antonio. I'm vegan so there wasn't much I could eat but my husband got an omelette with hash browns and biscuits and loved it. My daughter got the pancakes and said they were the best she's ever had. It has been around forever and has a lot of... More

We stopped for lunch here after the Painted Churches tour, it was decidedly home cooking at it's finest. A must stop if you are near Schulenberg, Texas

We stopped in as I remember coming with my grandmother and her sister, my great aunt over 40 years ago. The place was clean, decor showing photos from the past of Frank's and the food!!! Excellent

My favorite stop going or coming from San Antonio / Austin and Houston. Good service, with many long time wait staff. Hamburgers get rave reviews, but their fried chicken like what Grandma made. Takes 23 minutes but it is good!!! The best item is their coconut meringue pie. They have a real good selection of locally baked breads too.

We both had a salad that was good. The waitress was exceptional and kept asking us if we were ok after giving us our order. We chose this place because it was right across the highway from where we were staying. There's a nice little gift shop and plenty of goodies like homemade pies and pralines for sale. Also, they... This is a family owned restaurant and the food and service are exceptional. The fried chicken fingers were light and tender. The homemade bread was tasty. The sausage platewith German potatoe salad was also over the top. They also sell their homemade breads and deserts. You can't miss with Frank's!
