This place is for adults only. More of a bar atmosphere which we loved. The food was great, atmosphere fun and service can't be beat. Friendly place. It is obvious they are accustomed to treating the locals. Can't wait to visit again.

It's worth the trip to Gilhooley's. We drove past it because there is no street sign, so you better have the address handy. The grilled/roasted oysters with parmesan were the best I've ever had. Should have gotten another dozen. Don't bring your kids

Order "oysters Gilhooley's" or "oysters picante" (with or without shrimp) and a cold beer. Do not bring your kids or your credit cards as neither will be accepted here. Do not complain about the wait time as they have to shuck the oysters before cooking...More

Not fancy, cash only, kids not welcome, heavy cigarette smell inside, and AWESOME OYSTERS are the best words to describe this particular place. They also have great budain balls and other southern delicatessen. So if you can deal with my description please come and enjoy...More

Had a dozen broiled oysters ($22.50) which were topped with garlic and parmigiana. Would take two dozen to satisfy me or about $43. Given the quality I would say they were probably over priced. Ordered a Corona with them, but the waitress never delivered it....More

It is a bar/tavern and also a rather rough looking one at that. Probably not the best place for kids.

$15. I got 15 oysters, what I would call medium to large in size.
