Although lots of folks rave over the place, I believe 'mediocre' is a good word. The place is very busy and clean but just OK. There are lots of excellent barbecue places in Texas. This one is nothing special to me.

fantastic food with bean soup as starter which shouldn't be missed. Has earned its reputation as one of Texas top 50. Brisket was amazing for flavor and tenderness. Friendly staff.

Beef brisket is wonderful. Each meal is started with Charo beans which you may sample while deciding what to order off the menu. I expecially like the Giant Baked Potatoe, loaded with brisket, sour cream and cheese

Great food! I had the Super Combo with ribs, chicken, and brisket. All were very good! Brisket smoky, moist, and tender. The chicken had a great smoky flavor. The ribs were my least favorite but still good. The bean soup appetizer was very flavorful and they'll bring you more if you ask. Potato salad and slaw was also good. I... More

I have been dining here for many years me while I believe I have tried most notable BBQ joints in south Texas , I believe that this is the best of the best. Yes Lockhart has a monopoly on Texas BBQ but in south Texas this place is king .

We've had enough tacos on this visit. Saw all the cars out front and stopped. Service was fast and friendly. Had the spud. Really good. Pinto bean soup is the best I've had.

You cannot go wrong at "the skinny cow", our name for the restaurant based on the outside signage. Service is always good to great. The food is tasty and the menu has something for everyone, no matter their taste (vegans excepted). The bean soup provided to all, even prior to ordering, is outstanding. You can fill up on it, and... More

We hired Longhorn Cattle Company to cater our mother's birthday party. From the initial placing of the order to the point where the guys were cleaning up this company far excelled our high expectations. The manager explained how they would do things, right down to the minutest detail, and their operation went exactly to plan and then some. Our food... More
