We recently enjoyed a lunch at Osaka. The menu has a lot of choices and the lunch special was a good deal. Good basic sushi overall. The restaurant was busy and we had to ask for basics several times, but were brought to us quickly...when asked.More
Our family has eaten at Osaka on a few occasions for special events and we have always had a great time! When you compare it to high end hibachi restaurants, it is a good experience for the price. We never have to wait too long...and the dinner is casual and extra fun. The food is good and plentiful, especially for the price. The sushi is also well done. It makes a trip to Sachse definitely worthwhile!More
Not the best hibachi I ever ate for sure. We dined at table service, not at one of the grills, so this is not a review of the show at all.
Had hibachi chicken dinner and was pretty bad at best. Chicken was way overcooked...and very dry, had little to no flavor. Vegetables were so overcooked they were almost like mush and unidentifiable. Dipping sauces were nothing much, salad was pretty pathetic only lettuce and some very average dressing. Soup was about the same as other places we have been.
Tried some of the other's meals as well. Shrimp was overcooked and dry like the chicken. Steak was cooked medium and was pretty good and still somewhat juicy, but same as veggies with the chicken.
Did not try the sushi so really can't comment on it.
Service was decent and people were friendly.
Will not be returning.More
My husband and I had been wanting to try Osaka since it opened as it is literally right around the corner from our house. I mean, we grocery shop at the Kroger in the plaza all the time and we get Bahama Bucks cravings a...lot this time of year. That being said, the location is perfect for us! However, being out in the suburbs, we were a little hesitant to believe that we would find great sushi so close. We were pleasantly surprised! We went on a Saturday night and had no trouble getting a table. The service was great, the food reasonably priced and the presentation was what one would expect of a sushi place downtown - very artfully done. We were particularly impressed by the salmon sashimi. It was so buttery, we would've believed that it was king salmon. I almost don't want to leave an awesome review for fear that this place will become too popular :-)More
Food is excellent...Service was great up until time to get the check..very slow (had fussy 2 year old) Prices in line with other Hibachi. Not a huge place but we went Monday night so not a problem. Liked everything except cook squirting a flavored water...into out mouth where we got wet (they can skip this part, no one would miss I dont think) The cook over-killed it and drenched some of us, not cool. They also try to throw veggies and have you catch them in your mouth. I wasn't a fan of this either. You end up missing and they just go on the floor. I think its tacky but call me boring those of you who like this sort of thing. Other than the food games, I loved the place and will return. Lunch is cheaper I think. Just tell them if you dont want the dog and pony show.More
I have been here twice and it has been amazing every time. I have not tried the Hibachi, so I will not comment on that. But the sushi is fantastic, the food is delicious, and the service is spot on. Prices are about the same...as any other places offering sushi or hibachi.More
This is a great Japanese restaurant. Shumai, Sushi Rolls, Soups, Nabe Yaki Udon, and Tempura Green Tea ice cream - Everything we tried was delicious. Plus there is a full bar, the warm sake is fantastic. Service is very good.
