The atmosphere was decent, could do without the giant TV showing football. My husband had a very good Frito pie. I had the salmon with green beans and sweet potatoes. It was seriously the best green beans I have ever had. I would love to...get the recipe. The Texas Old Fashioned was flavorful with a major kick.More

We called ahead to pick up an order for about 8 people from Teague's. The food was incredible and they did a fantastic job getting everything right. My wife and I shared the frito pie and man was it great! Everything on the menu looked...great and I can't wait to go back to this place the next time we are in town.More

Our waitress tried—but it was a mediocre experience. Cleared a table outdoors then never came back to seat us. We seated ourselves. Finally got a menu. Ordered wine & beer—which arrived AFTER we finished our meal. Burger was OK—nothing special. Fries were delicious! I would...not go back. (It was the only restaurant open on Monday.)More

Teague Tavern is open when other things are closed in Round Top. Good food and drinks - especially cocktails. Patio seating available.

Stopped in on Monday - May 4th, late lunch. Only other customer was drinking at the bar and a child of the waitress doing home school. No problem with either. Upon arrival they had the required Covid rules posted on a sheet at front door...and a dirty bottle of hand sanitizer, suggested to use. We did and was sorry - our hands were cleaner before we used the sticky substance offered. We were seated promptly. Place appeared adequately clean, no smell of any sanitizing products - questionable. First stop was the restroom to wash off the ??sanitizer. Clean enough - but again the dispenser for the hand washing solution was old and dirty. Staff - was friendly - person behind the bar appeared to be owner/manager, had a face covering on when we went in and it was removed shortly thereafter and never replaced. He had a cough. Waitress was very sweet and accomodating... again with the mask... she put it on to take our order, but when she served the food it was under her chin. Normal conditions this would be a good place. Food was acceptable, had the lunch special, waitress was helpful and accommodating. But IF you are going to open for full business - PLEASE follow the RULES and be considerate of the health of your clients... don't just appear to be in "compliance". Maybe my bad for trying an unknown restaurant at this time. Not feeling good about this visit.More

The restaurant served a variety dishes to suit different taste. The food was really good. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich + Fries and Ice Tea (sweet). Everyone in my group tried different items and we were all pleased. We have already discussed returning in...the near future. I do not mind the 2 hour drive. The atmosphere is very inviting and the waitors were very friendly. The restaurant is located in this wonderful little town with beautiful landscaping. I highly recommend it.More

Stopped in on a Sunday night. Almost no one there (Round Top basically closes down on Sunday afternoon) David T was our server. Super nice guy, great service. Wait for our dinner was really long though for just having a handful of other customers. When...dinners arrived, salmon very undercooked on one meal, on the other the shrimp wasn't undercooked - it was raw. Gray and wiggly. The owner came by and apologized. He said he had a new cook and there had been a scheduling problem. An experienced cook was also supposed to be working training new person. Both meals were taken back and corrected. Once we got cooked meals, both were very good, especially the Honey glazed Salmon Fillet. I had without the bacon jam (I'm one of the few people if not the only one that doesn't care for bacon - I know, crazy huh?) The seasoning on the salmon was very good. Green bean/sweet potato medley really good too. We weren't charged for the shrimp meal. We thought this was a nice gesture for the owner to do. We would give the place another try. I'm sure new cook knows what raw shrimp looks like after this.More

We sat outside and enjoyed nice wine and snacks. Pleasant environment and nice helpful staff. Not much open in Round Top during the week/not market times so be sure and check before heading there. Seems to be lively enough on weekends.

Food is okay but service is very , very slow and if you want to order they are Hiding in the Kitchen or too busy talking with customers (that interest them) to take your order or your out of luck on Drink Refills , Soft...Drinks, Beer or Coffee. Watch out for DAVID he's a terrible waiter, needs to be dismissed . The lady greeted us but she could not get a damn Coke to refill my glass to save her life. Don't know her name but DAVID SHOULD NOT BE WAITING TABLES, HE'S SLOWER THAN POURING SOMETHING THICK. KETCHUP HAS MORE FASCINATION AND LESS ANTICIPATION THAN DAVID THE ALOOF WAITER.More

When the cook gets it right, it’s good. Unfortunately, the inconsistency between our two plates was telling of someone that would rather send out an obvious screwup, rather than redo it. The chicken fried steak was good, as was the gravy and mashed potatoes. The...chicken sandwich was something else. The first problem we noticed was the extra dark grill marks on the top of the bun. The inside of the bun had been grilled to the extent that it was burned in places. That would have been an easy fix to redo another bun before letting it out of the kitchen. As for the chicken on the sandwich, I see where they get the name. The breading on the “fried” chicken sloughed off and revealed a piece of chicken with grill marks on it. Grilled chicken, breaded and fried is ridiculous. It’s a really nice venue and the concept is great with friendly staff and a well stocked bar. There’s a nice outdoor seating area for alfresco dining that’s pet friendly. Too bad about the inconsistent quality.More
