We got a large to go order of brisket and ribs with beans and potato salad. The brisket was very dry. Some of it had the texture of jerky. The ribs were better but still on the dry side. It was not nearly on par with the original location. On the bright side, the service was top notch. I was... More

We visited Salt Lick tonight for dinner. The absolute Star of the Show is the brisket! Yummy, smoky, juicy and tender! The sides weren't all that good, but the brisket and sauce were outstanding! Can't wait to go back!

Had always heard Salt Lick was the best BBQ in Texas, so my wife and I decided to go. We weren't disappointed! Would be a perfect place to go right before the baseball game. Great price, great portion, and, most importantly, great BBQ!

Stopped in for lunch before noon, places was empty. Chose to sit at the bar, drink ice tea, and a brisket plate. + take out for later at home with family. BBQ at Salt Lick is good. I've had a few bad instances but just send the meat back for some other. Been a customer for over 20 years from... More

Salt Lick is hands down the best BBQ in town. We have never had much of a wait to be seated, food comes out quick, portions are generous, and the meat is done wonderfully. I love the building nearly as much as the food - it's one of our must-stops when we have visitors because it has such a homegrown... More

I enjoyed my visit here, the BBQ is a bit different than my normal choices at home. They had many offerings and the layout of the restaurant was great. I would recommend stopping by and trying it.

Best in Texas (better than Franklin's, but a notch down from the original in Driftwood). No Turkey last time we went, but the chicken and sides were great. They also have great sauce, peacan pie!

Modeled after the original site south of Austin, was skeptical it could replicate the ambiance and quality, but have been pleasantly surprised. For all you can eat family style bbq the Salt Lick can't be beat. This is Texas style smoked meat, nothing fancy, just well seasoned and properly cooked and the sides are equally tasty. Worth the wait, which... More

Was assigned to pick up a large order for take out. I was not treated well and frankly I was upset about the service. They did not offer to help load it in the car for me. I was rally excited to se that they had expanded to my part of world but I think I will make the trip... More

I had seen a Food Network or other Travel show that visited Salt Lick, and when I got to Austin had to give em a try. I was told to go to the one in Round Rock by my hotel concierge and did so. The GPS took me there and I am glad I used it because I would have... More
