Old Fulton Seafood Cafe & Steakhouse is frequently lauded for its delectable seafood and fresh ingredients, with many guests complimenting the well-prepared dishes. While the restaurant is often celebrated for its relaxing ambiance, some suggest that an improved music selection could further enhance the atmosphere. Service at Old Fulton Seafood Cafe & Steakhouse typically receives high marks for being attentive and friendly, though there are occasional reports of slower service. While most find the seafood quality exceptional, a few patrons feel the pricing doesn't always reflect the value, and there have been rare mentions of overcooked or oversalted food.

We wanted "local" seafood, and Old Fulton was recommended. Because we did not have reservations, we went early (6:15 p.m.) and were seated immediately. By 7, there were lots of people waiting in the lobby! All the seafood choices were great. The service was good. We ordered drinks with the meal and that was good. Overall: a 5 star experience in a small town, such a great treat. The only disappointment is that we ate there on a Saturday and they are closed Sundays. We ALL wanted to return a second night, as the menu is extensive and all items were great!

You must go! We would not have probably stopped there without a recommendation from a local friend. Stephanie was wonderful and took care of us. Cocktails were really good and well priced. We had a Mexican martini, perfect not dirty or not too clean martini and a salty dog were made to our liking! The crab cake was well worth every penny and my fried shrimp was fresh and the variety of sauces offered were fun to try. Stop by! The executive lounge will be our next stop if just cocktails and appetizers are needed. We are are still looking for the deli part of the restaurant! Lol

Just judge a book by its cover. Seems very podunky and not good at all upon walking in honestly, but hang in there because the food is actually delicious and the service is so sweet. Really enjoyed the food and the conversation with our waiter. Would definitely pay them another visit :)

My first impression was not good. The place is very dark inside and it seemed very old with the fake flowers on the walls. Not a happy place. The food was not good. I got oysters Rockefeller and they had such a funny and weird taste. I tried to eat two of them and could hardly find the oysters. When I did find them, they were so small. Next I had their clam chowder. I’ve been here before and had only tasted the clam chowder and liked it. That’s why I went back. However, this time the chowder was so gritty and I kept crunching on what seemed like shells. Not good for a chowder. My husband got the Italian Submarine and he said it wasn’t bad. But the homemade chips were soggy. We really wanted to like the place but we will not be back. Saving grace was staff. Super nice and attentive. Date: Jan. 29, 2020.

I'm very sorry that you were less than pleased. I am a bit confused however. You mentioned your first impression description but later went on to say that you had been here before for the chowder and returned. To address your oysters Rockefeller, we do get our oysters locally from our neighborhood seafood house Albys on a daily basis. The oysters are coming out of our bays. Sometimes the price we pay for fresh oysters may be smaller ones. Rockefellers have a very distinct flavor that may not please everyones pallet. I did address your chips with my chefs and I appreciate your cander.

We visited for a late lunch at 1:30 and the restaurant was still at capacity so it has a solid base of customers. I think it is a popular spot for locals and has a different atmosphere than most other Rockport/Fulton eateries. It is darker and quieter. I feel it would be a good business lunch spot or special dinner. We had the daily special which was fried shrimp with coleslaw and homemade chips. Everything was perfectly average and portions were perfect for lunch. . We may go back for lunch and try their sandwiches.

Saw this restaurant as #2 in Rockport and had high expectations on our getaway weekend from SATX. Found it next to the courthouse in a shopping mall. We arrived at 3pm and were quickly seated with a nice waitress that got our drinks, and appetizers (1/2 pound of gulf shrimp which was very good, New England clam chowder, also good - we'd recommend both). For our main entrees, I got the fried red snapper with sides (filled me up) which was good. My wife got the baked red snapper with rice pilaf, took a couple of bites, but unfortunately rubbery. We sent it back and was offered fried red snapper. It was brought out but with no side dishes, which we had to ask for as well, a new set of utensils. When we were paying the bill, a 3rd snapper was charged at half price for the replacement and when confronted, the management or hostess said my wife had eaten more than half the meal, which was blatantly false. I asked if being charged for a 3rd meal, why wasn't more sides and a roll brought out originally? I told them we weren't paying for the replacement snapper since they over-cooked the first one. The bill was corrected but their attitude was flippant and unfriendly. I recommend Latitude or Boiling Pot over this snobbish location.

We bought 2 Coconut Shrimp meals to go and waited for them to be prepared. Aside from forgetting to give us on of the sides, the shrimp were way over cooked, and the vegetables tasted like they came directly from a can. For two meals that weren’t cheap, I recommend going anywhere else to eat.

The owner and the staff are all so wonderful, and the atmosphere is very comfortable and nice. We frequent Old Fulton Seafood, both for lunch and dinner. At lunch they make the absolute BEST sandwiches. The cold meat and cheese sandwiches are perfectly assembled, with the right structure and fresh veggies. Lots of quality Boars Head protein in them too. I’m also partial to the French Dip, and my better half’s favorite warm sandwich is the muffuletta. Dinner has several good starters as well as entrees. The fresh fish and shrimp are always great, with a variety of preparations available. And the steak has never disappointed us - high quality beef every time. Gari is a wonderful waitress - she has the personality and skills that keep us requesting her as our server.

We stopped in for lunch based on the very positive reviews, but were wondering if we were in the wrong place... Positives: Wonderful and welcoming greeting from the older man seating people! Excellent service with warm servers. Happy hour in the afternoon: $3.50 Salty Dog cocktail Negatives: Kind of depressing dark atmosphere. Jambalaya was barely warm. Po Boy sandwich was very small with small pieces of fish. Not worth $15. Reuben sandwich was just ok. I am glad we didn't eat there for dinner, disappointing.

Been here many times and never disappointed! Like everywhere else in town, make reservations, may not be necessary if you're the last one to get a table, but better safe than sorry. Clam chowder excellent. crab cakes. fried shrimp & oysters and every type of salad I've ever had as fresh as it gets. They've managed to stay in business despite the lack of help again, like everyone else right now. Staff is first class and owners delightful. Reservations avoid long wait times like many other local restaurants. A MUST try!!!

Serve me a dozen oysters in plastic pill cups and I’m immediately thinking no way this place is number one. The shrimp po boy was just OK, again not worthy of a number one ranking. Located in a strip center with bus station ambiance. Service was really good, got them the second star. There are better places to eat in ROCKPORT.

You’ll want to include this place on your list of places to visit in Rockport. This is an old school,do it the right way place for good seafood and drinks. It has a full bar and wine list. I had the shrimp Diane and was not disappointed. A pre-meal cocktail, garden salad and entree with a glass of Pinot was $30. Very good meal and worth the walk from the local hotel. The place was packed and seemed to be locals. They have a happy hour menu with good drink specials. The dessert menu offers bread pudding, peach cobbler and carrot cake. I couldn’t indulge but many around me did. Looked delish and plentiful. You’ll enjoy the cordial service where they treat you like family.

I was looking forward to having the calamari appetizer here again, and wasn't disappointed. I really like that they use what are essentially calamari steak fingers instead of the usual rings/tentacles...it's gives more of a meaty texture that's very enjoyable. The entree of fried shrimp was good, but instead of butterflying the shrimp before frying, it might enhance the flavor if the shrimp were left whole (butterflying makes the ratio of breading to shrimp too high and detracts from the flavor of the shrimp). Wait staff is outstanding.

We went to the restaurant without a reservation, they did not answer the phone to make one. We where very disappointed in that we were told all reservation spots & tables were full for the day. As we were leaving a white woman was looking over the menu so we asked if she had a reservation. She said no. We told her what was told to us. She went in & came out to get the rest of her party, they gave her a table. We were a mix of Hispanics & Vietnamese. We will never know what the food is like, we will not return.

Some of the “best ever” breaded Shrimp and fresh broiled fish around. Shrimp cocktail a great starter with home made sauce, avocado and onion. Owner came by twice to check on us and doing a great job of providing a Safe dining experience.
