It is a little pricey, but most decent seafood is. The food is really good. The majority of the menu is fried, but if you're looking for good fried fish, oyesters, hushppies, etc. it's a great place to go. Plus, they have frog legs! Yum! The sauces taste homemade. The sweet potato fries are also really good. Some of the... More

We were frequent customers for many years, but 2 yrs ago we moved. We were in the area this week & stopped in Sat evening! The Crabby Patty was mush, the frog legs had no flavor, the best thing on the plate was they 2oz serving of cold slaw! Not the same quality or flavor we were accustomed to and... More

We love to go here on special occasions. The crab cakes are incredible and save room for their bread pudding. The food has a bit of New Orleans flair. Lots of fried fish, shrimp, and great burgers too! Atmosphere is similar to going to a hole in the wall but food is good. I think it is too expensive regardless of... More

My family and I wanted a local seafood place to eat while down in Rockport and this place was fantastic! I recommend the crabby pattie, shrimp and fish.

If you're looking for fancy keep driving but you'll miss out on a delicious meal. Check out the numerous daily specials. Portions are large and served hot and fresh. Delicious seafood and hearty burgers combined with reasonable prices. They don't serve liquor but you can take your own beer or wine and if you forget there is a liquor store... More

This place is what traditionally is called a 'Hole in the Wall'. It has just a few tables but the food is seaside home cooking. That means they have fish, shrimp, Po' Boys, sliders, platters, and buckets. Most menu items come fried especially if it catfish or shrimp, but the fish can be grilled. The big values come in buckets.... More

Shempy's use to be a regular for us. The last couple of times it has been hit or miss. Ordered soft shell crab and they were extremely small and tasteless. They do have good soups and specials. You just never know how it will turn out.
