Easygoing place with great food. Best burgers in the area for a good price. The staff are always awesome. This is my go to place for a great burger.

We love Shempy's for the fried shrimp and The excellent way that they cook the fish that we bring in. It is a very casual place without very many tables. Plan ahead! It is BYOB so that can help keep costs down for the family experience. If you want to bring your own fish that you have just caught in... More

Originally this place was called croakers owned/cook by the Vickers crew. Then it was an awesome 5 star hamburger and steak place. Even when they left and the other cook took over and renamed it shempys it kept the good quality (but they dropped the steaks), fast forward to owner number 3 and what you have is a restaurant trying... Had a shrimp po-boy and it was very good. The shrimp were large and cooked perfectly. I don't eat anything fried other than shrimp so I'd probably have a hard time finding other things on the menu since it seemed like most things were fried. But I enjoyed what I had. Good jalapeño hush puppies too. My partner had frog... More

As long as you don't mind eating in a fried food restaurant where the entire place smells like the grease that they cook their seafood in, then and ONLY then this is the place for you. It's seat yourself & heaven forbid you ask them to clean off a table so you can spend your money here. Between the negative... More

If ever in the Rockport area, don’t miss this small restaurant that I found serves the biggest fried shrimp in all of Corpus Christi metropolitan area. I was amazed as to the quick friendly service we received with a small town atmosphere. Along with our meal, we had to order a second order of the fried shrimp and crammed these... More
