Best homemade biscuits and big breakfast in town. Pie & coffee happy hours from 3-5 PM. Good fresh food all the time. Great friendly staff and great prices. Make a stop here. We will be back!

This is a small cafe on the main drag in Port A. The service was good and so was the food. The salad bar isn't very special, but the seafood was good. I had the popcorn shrimp basket, which came with the salad bar, a half a plate of popcorn shrimp, and a half a plate of French fries. I... More

We always hit Island Cafe for breakfast when we are in Port A. Get there before 11 though if you want breakfast. Prices and the food are both great.

Good food, had dinner one night, recommended by our lodging staff. Offered a local catch, red drum, the night we were there. Only available fried. No alcoholic beverages served.

Our food obviously had been cooked long before we got there and was dried out. We had bacon, eggs hash browns and biscuits. We ate very little and left. extremely disappointing, the plus side --it was cheap.

After hearing some great comments and frequent "flyers" talk about this diner I decided to take the plunge. Things got started with the coffee. It literally tasted like dish water. It was soapy tasting and watered down. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros. It seemed the tomatoes were from a can of diced tomatoes, not drained with no peppers (i.e. Ro*tels)... More

We had a great traditional breakfast here . It was the only place open on Monday morning after Port A s Sandfest weekend . There is nothing fancy about this place but our breakfast was good and service was quick . Reasonable pricing also . Would visit again . Appears to be a local hangout .

Upon entering it is as if you are being seated in a family kitchen. The service is fast and friendly. The cafe is clean and it stays very busy. The locals are friendly also. We have had breakfast and lunch here. They were both wonderful-cooked just as you ask-whether they want it that way. Sunny side up eggs rare steak... More

Food is good, servers are very sweet and quick! We drove over from Corpus Christi and there aren't many choices here, but this place made me feel like a "regular"
