Avery's does a fantastic job with breakfast and the locals are definitely onto them. I ate breakfast there 2 days in a row, and the second day the place was packed. There was only a short wait, however, and the servers did their best to take care of everyone in a timely manner. The food was worth the wait. The... More

Not only was the chicken fried steak the best my husband has ever had, but the refried beans that came with my eggs ranchero were wonderful as well as the ranchero sauce. Very clean-looking place and everyone so friendly. Our server, Crystal, was great---Very friendly, efficient and accommodating.

We ate here late on a Monday night. We had Hamburger Steak, a Burger, Kids Fish Meal and my husband and I split a Fish & Oyster Meal. There was also a very good salad bar with house made crouton sticks. The fish was excellent and so was the hamburger steak. Everything we ate was delicious and even with two... More

Pretty standard dinner, great for breakfast. As with all the restaurants in Port A, the wait staff are sometimes hit with a big crowd and do the best they can. This ain't Dallas, so be patient.

What a deal! Monday through Friday all breakfast omelets are only $6.00. I had the yummy shrimp omelet (regularly $10.95 and worth it). It was stuffed with shrimp, grilled veggies and Monterrey Jack cheese. I added the homemade ranchero sauce for a buck and it was perfect. The grits are ok but I did enjoy the biscuits! Wish they had... More

My sister and I ate there the last day we arrived. And I cannot wait to go back and have some fresh fish that is always on the menu . The banana pudding was really good! Made with perfect ripened bananas. We will be back to try more.

It's a little mom and pop joint that's not like all the other fried fish rests. in town. If you want a homey feel and grandma's cooking then this is the place for you. They now have a salad bar which is nice, not too fancy, just small and what you need for a salad. Been for breakfast, lunch and... More

Friendly people, good food, outstanding prices. We came here on a Thursday morning for breakfast, and were seated right away. The waitress warned that on weekends there is often a waiting line all the way out the door.

My wife and I were looking for a place to have breakfast and were told to try Avery's. The selection of breakfast options on the island is definitely slim pickens. The food was just ok, something anybody with a pan and some eggs could make...definitely nothing spectacular or to write home about. Service was good, our waitress never let my... More

Visited in the off-season and were looking for a place that had something for everyone, including those of us in the group that didn't eat seafood. It was pretty good-nothing special, but better than some of the places we've eaten at in Port A. The onion rings are very good, a must have! I had the 5 ounce burger/fries, which... More
