A half-price Roy’s Travelzoo offer caught my attention. It had been years since we’d last been to Roy’s, and it was the first time for our friends. Wish we hadn’t raved about our happy Roy’s memories, because the experience was so disappointing. We were promptly seated in a bland side dining room (my office cubicle is more inviting), and our... Have had several pleasant family birthdays and happy hours here, went as a couple this time. Early reservation. Lot of good attention from hostess, suits roaming, and our waitress. My companion liked the Poke Bowl. I found too much variety for my tastes, and did not care for the dressing that was on some items. Lobster potstickers were tasty, but... More

When we arrived our table was ready. A surprise was a Birtgday Greeting card waiting on the table. Our waiter was gracious, avid to make our visit special. He took our picture for us, described the drink we selected, and quietly took our orders. The salmon was so tasty, tender and marinated perfectly. Our server was always available but not... More

Great service and food. I liked the Hawaiian emphasis on the food as this is Texas and the restaurant started in Hawaii in 1988. I highly recommend the butterfish which is simply black cod. The Misoyaki sauce on the fish is very good. I had the seasonal pork entree which was a glazed pork chop. It was cooked perfectly medium... More

We came here on a recommendation from a friend. Sad to say we were not very impressed. Some of the food was good, some was average, and some was bad. Good: Lobster pot stickers. The sauce on these was nice. Average: Roy's Trio. The salmon was just okay, the mahi mahi and butterfish were better. Shellfish Sampler. For over $40... More

Dined at Roy's Plano last week. Have been here numerous times and it's always top notch. We had a 6:00 reservation and arrived around 30 minutes early and were seated immediately. The service was fast and fantastic. I had the Braised Short Ribs and they were wonderful, perfectly seasoned, tender with wonderful texture and taste. The Yukon mash was also... More

We've been to Roy's on three continents, and the Plano restaurant, while lacking the incredible view of the one on Oahu, and the vibrancy of the Chicago outlet is nonetheless classic Roy's, and all that means. Manager Stephanie Edgington (no relation) maintains the Roy's high level of service, staff is well trained and responsive, the atmosphere is warm and dignified,... More

Excellent atmosphere, good service, and exorbitant prices for miniscule portions of average quality . I am often dissapointed by the portion sizes by upscale restaurants. Roy's were at the low end. My wife's shrimp entree was 6 small shrimp and half a cup of rice. This is acceptable when taste is exceptional and the presentation is unique or stylish. Roy's... More

This is one of the best restaurants in Dallas...well Plano to be exact. I always like going when they have their grand prix..you can do a tasting menu - a three course for a nice price.

I came to a cocktail party at Roys in the side room by the front door. We only had their appetizers but they were absolutely incredible. I have never tasted such delicious roasted vegetables. I also had never had roasted Asian vegetables such as bok choy. I loved the flat bread which reminded me of pizza and the little miniature... More
