Whether taking your pooch to the outdoor dining area or staying inside (like we did on a cold and rainy day), Katy Trail Ice House provides good food in a casual atmosphere with good service. Enough TV's to qualify it as a Sports Bar, but...Katy Trail offers more of a place to just hang out with friends. Our group feasted on Burgers, Brats, and the Chopped Salad entree and all went well. One side that goes well are the Tater tots which were done to perfection. Decent beer and drink list as well.More
We wondered in this place not knowing what to expect. It has a high aroma of BBQ... not enough to be unpleasant but it lets you know whats on the menu. To our surprise it was very casual with an outstanding outside venue that is...very pet friendly. I personally don't have a need to dine with dogs, but there is plenty of room for pets and people alike. The pet's are not in the way and there is plenty of dining room in the restaurant if that bothers you. The food was very good. I had a Sliced BBQ sandwich, which was excellent. It came with Cole slaw that was very good, not too much mayo, and Charro beans that were outstanding! The beef was tender, I had the "lean" brisket vs "moist" brisket. I like the leaner cuts. It was tender served on a bun with BBQ sauce on the side. This was an excellent meal for under $15. My wife had the Abscondo salad with a lettuce mix tomato's, asparagus spears, and Hearts of Palm with an excellent vinaigrette. The portions were large and filling. The service was very attentive. I would highly recommend this place for BBQ and the salads. The Charro beans were some of the best I have ever had. The spices were present for your palate but not so strong that you missed the bean's flavor. Great overall place to have a casual dinning experience with an outside patio area that makes you feel as if you are in a park. Although you are right off a main artery of this area. We could not even begin to hear the traffic.More
Went here for after work drinks, they have a great selection of on tap beer, great service and a fun outdoor space to sit & enjoy. Both table & bar service was excellent, the bar food was very good and we had a nice time.
Came with a friend for dinner. We shared the patty melt and chicken salad sandwich. Both pretty good. Twice fried French fries. Not a big fan of the onion rings. Got 3 huge ones. Delicious Hefeweizen on tap. Red wine from the bottle a little...old. Good friendly service. Nice patio atmosphere. I’ll go back.More
We went there a few days in a row and the place has an amazing vibe. Outdoor bar with an upbeat atmosphere and very friendly staff. There are TVs everywhere so you could watch games while hanging with friends. This is a NICE area of...Dallas that you need to go visit.More
First-time eating here, the dog friendly outdoor patio was totally full, inside was also full and the only thing that I had to get used too was how loud the place was. The food made it worth it, the fries were amazing. First-time in years,...I didn't eat them with ketchup due to how good they tasted. Now the cheeseburger was perfect, cut into two piece, both wrapped, could tell the burgers were fresh made, dice onions, pickles mustard and with American Cheese. Best of all the bun was toasted, didn't break apart or get soggy.
Definitely will eat here the next time, I'm in town visiting family.More
Let me start with the fact I love this place. I went today and had the worst service ever. We sat at the only table available on the patio but it was dirty. We sat there for 20 min until I finally found a waitress...and asked her to help us. She replied, "you sat at a dirty table and I can't help you until the busboy cleans your table". UMM, OK... WTH? We moved to a different table, finally got service but it took another hour to get a burger. They did not have the staff to handle the patio- fact. If you don't want to sit for 2 hours just to get one beer and burger then I suggest you go elsewhere...More
