Excellent Peruvian. No tamales but the papas a la huancaina, empanada, ceviche and pisco sour were delicious (the potatoes perhaps lacked a little more egg). Service a bit slow/uncoordinated with the restaurant at 25%.

First time eating Peruvian. Johnny and James were great and had excellent suggestions for first timers. The Ceviche Mixto and Empanadas were great starters. We had the ravioli, shredded chicken, and Asian fusion seafood. Everything was outstanding. If you are looking for great food and...great people look no further. We highly recommend Lima Taverna!More

The choices are fantastic and I recommend trying as much as you can afford. The food is a little pricy but I think it’s definitely worth trying at least once. The ceviche was amazing and the sangria is just like the one I had in...Spain. This is also a great date spot and a good place if you’re craving South American food.More

I recently dined here with my son and a few of his friends (one of whom is from Peru, and this is a Peruvian restaurant!). The food was amazing! There were too many things which sounded wonderful, and our waiter brought us tastes of a...couple of the sauces and a drink, to entice us to try other foods as well! We had a wonderful dessert too! Great experience! I hope to go back again soon!More

I've never had Peruvian food and it was amazing! We ordered Aji de Gallina (chicken with parmesan cheese sauce and rice) and Beef Filet Anticucho (skewered, seasoned filet) with chimichurri sauce and yellow potatoes. After ordering we were served hot bread that was light and...fluffy with just the right crustiness. The owner waited on us and coached us on pronunciation of the dishes. Will definitely come back when back in town!More

Awesome colorful and delicious Peruvian cousine in a quite nice atmosphere. Try the unique Chicha Morada, it is an unexpected great and different soft drink. Then ask for some tequenos as an appetizer. Try the Taverna Ceviche and the Leche de Tigre Ceviche, both are...delicious. Don't miss a Cusquena blonde beer, it is really really good. We will definitely come back with friends.More

Spaced out seating during covid, so comfortable to dine (indoor only). The Leche de Tigre ceviche is out of this world - maybe one of the best we've had. So sad they haven't been able to get beef hearts - we were looking forward to...that. The special Peruvian ribeye was lovely (remember medium rare is super red) and the fried seafood platter really well done with delicate breading on the fish - even tasty fried mussels! We were too full for dessert, but a small taste of the alfajores cookies was perfect. The ginger cocktail was divine and the white rasperry sangria brilliant. The Saturday night live music is a woman who plays multiple instruments and sings and keeps things lively; not sure about Fridays. Lots of Peruvian and diners. The staff are all fantastic and can all answer questions. This will now be on our go-to list for Dallas. It is truly a hidden gem as it's on the back side of a strip center and you can't see it from the road. Don't miss out - you will not be disappointed!More

We love trying different Latin cuisines and my husband found Lima Taverna to try. During the pandemic we have done very limited take out but we needed a break from my cooking so tried them out. Wow! After reading the reviews we tried three dishes,...two I found via recommendations & one that just sounded good. All were exceptional but the ceviche mixto was the most outstanding of the three. If you like ceviche, it is a must order. The proteins in this ceviche are shrimp, fish and calamari. The base (I believe) is coconut milk and lots of lime. Also in the dish are cilantro, purple onion, sweet potatoes & Peruvian corn. The flavor is unique and a bit spicy, somewhat like a Thai dish. The sweet potatoes for example tasted spicy. The combination of all those flavors will have you drinking the sauce through the last drop. The empanada appetizer is smallish, with one empanada. The green sauce provides a fresh note to the rich filling. The pastry crust is skillfully made and tender. After we finished it we were wishing for more. The final dish we had was the Lomo Saltado, a traditional Peruvian dish. While delicious, it was not as unique as the other two. Hospitality Factor: They took great care to be careful during my pick up because of COVID. They wore masks, observed social distancing and were considerate. I so appreciated that care as you don’t see it anywhere. Tips: This is a unique place that needs to make it. If you order for curbside, just know that you cannot pay online.More

We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor when we were in Plano visiting a relative. Boy were we pleased with the experience! The owner (Elicio) was the perfect host and helped us make some menu selections from a list of traditional Peruvian main courses. The...ceviche was excellent (some the best we’ve ever had), and the Peruvian flan was also very good. If you are in Plano/Richardson, you have to check out this family owned Peruvian restaurant and the excellent host/owner, Elicio.More

We wanted to experience a South American dinner. The reviews for this place were good so gave it a try. First it is in a place of North Dallas where change is the way. Maybe in 5 years that will come. As a result the...location seems to be deserted. Then, maybe because of the above when you get into the restaurant you had max 20% is busy. The food: expensive with some Latin flavors. The wine: the most expensive cheap wine I've ever seen. One option under $100 bottle. Maybe good wine in the wrong ambiance. The owner, chef, and everything, seems to still be in California (where he just came from) and charge San Fran touristic prices. Over all we gave it a try but we'll never go back there.More
