We were passing through Ozona TX on Sunday mid-day. A brunch buffet was attracting a local crowd - families, older folks & friends. Staff & other customers were very friendly even though we were not from the area. Nice to feel welcome in the small community. The menu was extensive & food was good. I am not familiar with Tex-Mex... More

Very good authentic Tex-Mex that I grew up eating. Houston Tex-Mex is a watered down version of West Texas cafes. The wait staff is very attentive without hovering. Menu is full of good options. Only two negatives. One is you cannot buy beer or margaritas there. If you want something other than tea or a coke you will have to... More

The food is average - not great but not bad. This restaurants has numerous steps that may be an obstacle to someone in a wheelchair. Clean.

after a hard day of traveling we went to El Chato's for dinner. The food was a BIG disappointment, the the tacos carbon were dry and over cooked, I had the fried shrimp, it looked nothing like the photo in the menu. They were the cheap breaded butterfly shrimp from the freezer, ugh. We left our dinner after a few... More

Both times we have had chicken tacos. The food is not that great but it works for what is available in Ozona. We are traveling and don't want to spend a lot of time. The place is immaculate. It is decorated and Bright. The service is amazing. We ordered the two taco special for 6.95. Like I said, average food.... More

I have Mexican food a lot. This was arguably the worst I've ever had. I would guess that about 10-15% of this food is fresh, if that. The chili con queso was gelatinous goop from a can. Besides the poor quality of food, this restaurants interior decor is SO BRIGHT. Every wall a different color. My husband said "kind of... More

Great food and friendly staff. Beautiful place and very clean. I ordered the burito with beef and the flavor was amazing. Good place to stop and have a lunch or dinner after driving for a long time. It is kind of hard to miss because the location but if you stop to get fuel its just one block behind it.

Every thing on the menu is great! Service is good, They have other people they are waiting on but they always make sure you have enough to drink and assure you that your order is being worked on so you don't feel you've been forgotten. I don't know where other people get that the food and service are lousy? I've... More

Ugh. We were driving from Marfa to Austin and really wanted a nice lunch spot. It was a Sunday so a couple of our top choices were closed. We ended up at El Chato based on the Yelp and Tripadvisor Reviews (and a complete lack of other of choices). It is conveniently located right off I-10, literally less than one... More

The food is not very good. The chicken fajitas were bland and greasy. My husband got the chicken fried steak one time and I'm never very happy to be charged too much for a meal that comes with french fries that I can find myself in the freezer isle at the grocery store. I placed a large to go order... More
