Sadly disappointed.

We have been eating at this restaurant for 25 years. The food is normally very good and the customer service is very friendly. Today the place looked like homeless people had moved in. They have an old torn up looking couch in the lobby area. The dining room off the left of the lobby looked like they were about to have a garage sell. We will not return to Hunan Wok...it’s been a good restaurant for many years.

We used to dine here a few times a month, but then the quality of the food had declined. We had not dined here for many months, but our last visit was much improved. The size of the portions are very good, and you will usually leave with a go box. We started with the ribs and egg rolls as an appetizer,and I had the cashew chicken.The prices and portion size are a very good value, and there is always an open table to dine. They also will do carryout orders that you can call in.

Ordered delivery and driver called me out of a meeting to yell at me

I ordered lunch for a small group at my work. Once I ordered online, I called the restaurant to add several packages of chopsticks because the website didn't have a place for me to do it. Upon delivery, he had me called out of a meeting to tell me not to call the restaurant to add "free stuff". My order was nearly $70 and we tipped very generously, just to get reprimanded??? All I can say is wow. Very disappointed in service and disrespect of my time at work. After reading the reviews, I will not be ordering from them

Nasty!

My wife & I have not dined here in years because we don't live as close to it as we once did. Years ago, we enjoyed dining here. Well, this evening, we decided to drive to it and dine at it again. We were SHOCKED when we walked in and saw how filthy & run down the place is now! It was apparent when we walked in, but as we were led to our table, what we saw was even worse! Nasty everywhere we looked! Old food, yes food, and filth everywhere! We did not order. We left. This place is disgusting! Certainly not what we remembered! I wish I had taken photos to post along with this review.

Been a loyal customer for 30+ years but no more!

I went to pick up my to go order and walked in to the messiest restaurant I have ever seen. I actually asked the girl checking me out if there was a new owner. The place was dark since they do not allow dine in any longer. There was bags of trash piled up where the bar used to be and sacks all over the tables and chairs. It looks liked people were living in the restaurant. I got my food home and it just didn't taste the same as in the past. Again I have been eating here for over 30 years. I will take my business back to Haltom Chinese.

Nasty food, sick for days

Picked up order, 6 egg rolls, and vegetable delight first thing Saturday morning. Started with egg roll, wasn't sure once I took a bite. Thought it was the cabbage. Sick Saturday night. Vegetable delight Sunday during the games.Pewked before I could finish. Took left overs back Monday morning. Manager says I didn't call, been 2 days. No apologies. Too bad for me, I didn't call. On top of being sick, her dismissive attitude really topped it off. What happened to customer service. Won't be back.

Horrible Food Horrible Service

Horrible Food and Horrible Service Rufe Snow We got a flyer for this place and decided to give it a try, wishing now we hadn't!! Orange chicken was 3 pieces of actual meat and the rest was breading crumbles that were burnt, orange peel an peppers lots and lots of peppers....hard to call that an entree let alone an edible meal!! Sesame Chicken had chunks of meat to my suprise, but it being dry meat that the breading an flavor was drown out by all the water in the bottom of the container from the steamed broccoli. I had to pour out a 1/4 cup of water into the sink. Disgusting!! Fried rice was dry and tasteless to boot! I called to speak with the manager an asked for a refund an was told she can't refund me all she can offer is 2 egg rolls!!!! Seriously?? $35.00 for food that is un edible!!! Do yourself a favor, and do not eat here!!!! First impression = Never again 😠

You lost your most loyal customer

I have always raved about this business and how amazing the food is. I have had so many birthdays and special dinners/lunches here, my mother ate the food here when she was pregnant with me, we have brought many family members and friends here. I will never purchase a single item from this restaurant again. I order the paper wrapped chicken everytime I come here. Everytime. Today, I ordered 2 orders of the chicken and when I got home, I put my baby to sleep and sat down to finally eat my first meal of the day. The chicken was rancid. It was slimy, sour and smelled awful. So, I called the business, told them the issue, they said they would switch out my order for me, fine. But they wanted me to drive all the way back there! I said I would pay the delivery fee ($3) if they brought it to me, since they've delivered to me before, because my infant was sleeping and I didnt want to wake her. They said yes, and took my address. They then told me that for a replacement order, I lived too far away. What?!?! I'm still paying your stupid $3 fee for you to replace your rancid, nasty chicken!!! So I asked for a refund instead, they said that if I wanted a refund, I would have to bring the food back to them. F*ck this place. You have lost a loyal customer of over 25 years. I will never be back and you better believe that I will be telling every single family member and friend about this.

Dirty! Dirty! Dirty!

I believe this is the nastiest restaurant I have I have visited in long time. When we arrived at the restaurant and were waiting to be seated, we looked out on a room filled with plastic grocery bags. Half empty soda bottles, papers and assorted junk. But the worst was yet to come. As we were perusing the menu the waitress brought us some dirty and rotten lemons for our water. We called it to our attention and so she brought us some more (also dirty and old). Needless to say, that ruined the meal. If we had not seen the dirt etc., we would have judged it to be fair. There were 12 in our group and we all said that we won’t go back there.

From Great to Terrible since the old owner left.

We have ordered from this restaurant for 28 years Tim was the greatest awesome food and service. If they made a mistake they took care of you. The new corporate that owns it hires sub par customer service people. They could care less that they make a mistake twice on your take out order. The food is not nearly as good as it use to be. Especially the Hot and Sour soup. Its just sweet and yuk. Their menu says that they brought down a chef from New York that is supposed to be the best, apparently they did not say the best at what. Terrible food and worse service. Eat at your own risk!!!

Disgusting Food and Horrid Customer Service

This place was absolutely gross, i ordered around 930PM and my food didnt come to Midnight. I ordered General Tso Chicken was all breading and no chicken at all and was completely soggy. I also ordered CRISPY spring rolls and oil was dripping down all over my counter. I called the next morning to get a refund and the manager doesnt even speak english. Someone was communicating for her and they said they would not help me. I will never order from this place again. HORRIBLE.

Excellent Chinese Food

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant, it tastes like New York's Chinatown. The wonton soup is my favorite of any I have tried. The fried rice and egg rolls are excellent as well. Human Wok offers free delivery for a minimum purchase and it is pretty quick. One of my favorite date night meals to order in.

Been coming here for 30 years... but no more

We have been dining at Hunan Wok for 30 years... but never again. We ordered a takeout... Hot and Sour soup and fried shrimp and spring rolls. We got egg drop soup... noodles that had been fried in old oil, shrimp still dripping oil after we got home... and spring rolls fried in old oil. This used to have great quality food with perfect prep. This was early on Sunday lunch... The only thing decent was the fortune cookie. We miss the old owner, Tim.
