We stopped here as it was recommended as something to do in New Braunfels. The cookies were okay, but not near sweet enough for me - needed more sugar. The cheese pocket and got for breakfast the next morning was very good.

Thanks for stopping by for a couple of pastries! Sorry our cookie wasn't sweet enough for your, but we're glad we were able to provide you with a tasty breakfast the next day. We hope to see you again one day! Best, Naegelin's Bakery

Cute place is the best this bakery has to offer. The desserts we tried (an eclair and an apple streudle) were less than average. The eclair did not have the authentic custard filling, instead it tasted like a Hostess Twinkie!! Hmmm it was an expensive...More

It's a shame you didn't care for our sweets, Kathy, but thank you for visiting and for sharing your thoughts. Everything we bake here is made with homemade ingredients, regardless what you may assume. The redness in our strudel is due to the special blend...More

Lots of high quality baked goods reasonably priced! We carbed the kids up before a LOOONG walk to Faust St. Bridge. Unfortunately for me, no real gluten free options besides fudge but it's ALL good. Didn't need em anyways!

Glad to hear the kids were fully-carbed before a busy day exploring, Jdwinslett! Thanks for starting things off with us and for writing this glowing recommendation. Best wishes, Naegelin's Bakery

They were out of strudel by the time we got there. So we tried some of their prepackaged molasses iced cookies. They were very disappointing. I would describe them as dry and hard.. If that how they are supposed to be no thanks.More

We stop at Naeglin's every time we travel to New Braunfels. You walk in the door and you can smell the calories. Everything is so delicious. I especially liked the Bratwurst Kolaches. Unique and flavorful.

Very popular with tourists and locals also. Great strudel, pastries, cookies, pies and cakes. Gets really busy on weekend mornings, but worth the trip.

Description
The fresh cookies, pastries, pies and cakes from Naegelin's Bakery are of historic proportions and timeless quality. It's all in the preparation. The Granzin family still uses recipes developed by the Naegelin family during more than a century of experimentation to get the right ingredients. As you walk into the front door of the bakery, the sweet smell of baked foods engulfs you like a warm blanket. The glass cases are full of what seems like an almost endless array of cookies and pastries in a rainbow of colors. The bakery is still famous for their strudels that Naegelin perfected years ago. The Granzin's have added terrific sausage kolaches in addition to the menu of fruit filled kolaches. We suggest you try the popular favorite: the Lebkuche, a thick, rectangular brown cookie covered with pink frosting. Don't forget to try our apple strudel! We look forward to seeing you soon!
