Stopped here for lunch, more out of curiosity than real hunger. It's a small sandwich place with a drive through and it wss really busy so we took this as a good sign. To be fair, the inside didn't look as appealing as the outside...- it looked a little tatty around the edges. Still, the sandwich menu looked good and some sandwiches had small portion options, which was great. Staff were very friendly, too. I chose the small 'Plain Jane' (a turkey & swiss) with a side serving of poblano cheese soup. The sandwich came in a burger bun, which would have not been my first choice, but boy was it good! And the poblano cheese soup was totally delicious. My husband really enjoyed his veggie sandwich and also loved the soup. He was sorely tempted by the cakes on offer but then resisted. On flavour, this place nails it.More

So delicious. We ordered a "plain jane" for our son thinking just a plain ham & cheese sandwich, but even that had a yummy sauce, melted cheese, hot ham, all on the delicious bun. Well worth the wait! And even the wait was not too...bad, maybe 10 minutes for 3 sandwiches and a salad. I had the chicken pesto which was also delicious.More

Cravings is "known" for The Envy (turkey/cheese/spinach/onion) sandwich, which is really good, but I prefer the Chicken Pesto sandwich (grilled chicken/swiss cheese/mayo-pesto/avocado/romaine/tomato). Everything is served with your choice of chips/pasta salad/soup/fruit (I always get the pasta salad) and their delicious firecrackers (buy a box to...go, you'll want them!). Service is always quick and friendly, too! And a big plus for eating here with my hubby -- they offer gluten-free bread if you need that!More

This was my first visit to downtown New Braunfels, and I came across this little place for lunch. There were a lot of cars there so I thought I'd give it a try. There was a line, but it moved quickly. While waiting, I was...able to decide what to order from the large menu board behind the counter. They have sandwiches, soups, salads, and breakfast items. The dining room is pretty small with just a few tables, but I found a table outside on the patio. I had a half chicken salad sandwich, served on a croissant, and half a spinach salad. Both were very good, but the spinach salad was really delicious. Firecrackers (spicy, seasoned saltines) come with the meals too. There is a drive through which was busy the whole time I was there. Restrooms are around the back of the building if you go looking for one.More

Cravings’ Envy sandwich is really extraordinary ... one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten! Importantly, they accommodate my wife and granddaughter’s gluten allergy with their delicious breads, soups, and chips. Cravings is a must stop for a great, casual lunch.

We arrived in New Braunfels and were hungry for a late lunch. We found this cute place and decided to give it a try. All of the food is homemade and looked so good. We enjoyed a 1/2 chicken salad sandwich and 1/2 spinach salad....Both servings were ample and so tasty. There is a small patio out front to eat on a pretty day. Order at the counter from a large menu on the wall. Surprisingly clean restrooms in the back. We wished we had places like this where we live as so many of those near our home are chains. Can't wait to go back and try something else!More

I have spent a few years driving by this place and barely noticing it. I met a couple of people for a breakfast meeting this week. What a hidden little gem. The menu is creative. For breakfast I went small with the "Egg in a...Hole." It was very good and reasonably priced. If you seek a quiet little place to have a decent breakfast in a "homey" atmosphere... this is it.More

For years I had heard good things about this sandwich shop. I finally had lunch here last week with a couple of cousins. This place is in an old Dairy Queen or something like that, and was definitely not fancy. The interior was small and...dingy, small tables with no chairs matching each other that I could see. Not much attempt to modernize the decor; maybe that was OK because a lot of their trade appeared to be drive-through. Outside there were the same small tables and an old picnic table. Lots of flies buzzing around the day we were there. Elderly folk, a caution - it is very noisy here both inside and especially outside with a busy street very close by. On to the food.... I had their chicken salad sandwich which I had heard good things about. I found the chicken salad to be dry and in barely recognizable pieces; perhaps it was run too vigorously through a food processor, and not to have much flavor. Portions were meager with no sides but a small bag of chips. My cousins had a Reuben sandwich and a strawberry chicken salad. Overall, I was impressed with neither the fly-specked ambience nor the so-so food, so it was a disappointment and I won't be returning.More
