Wowzer great German experience! We ate here with our family after a short wait and what a treat. We had a great waitress, Delfina, who explained the menu and took great care of us. We ordered jagerschnitzel, weinerschnitzel, a reuben and german meatball. The Jagerschnitzel...was outstanding buried in a wine reduction dark mushroom sauce, just out of this world. The plain pork Wienerschnitzel was also delicious and reserved with side orders of spaetzle, red cabbage, and brussels sprouts cooked to a fine Carmelized state. The giant German meatball was served in a creamy white sauce with capers and was outstanding as was the Reuben sandwich For an appetizer we had the Texas style barbecue gulf shrimp which are also fantastic in a dark reduction sauce containing some Winchester sauce. We would definitely eat here again any chance we were in the area and we’re welcomed aboard by Matt a gracious manager. Prices are very reasonable for all the food you get in most entrees are much less than $20.More

My wife and I drove 3 hours from Corpus Christi to visit New Braunfels and eat and enjoy the music at Krause’s Biergarten. If you are not a local or a friend of the greeter you will not be seated in the biergarten. We arrived...at 5:00 pm and put our name on the list, we were told there was a 20 minute wait. We bought some drinks and sat down in the waiting area in a light drizzle. After an hour I asked the girls at the front how much longer, they said that we were next to be seated. Table after table were cleared and other people were seated. We watched one lady repeatedly go to the front desk and then sit at different tables until her friends showed up and she waved them over to the table and then she left to another table. She was allowed to do this 4 times. I asked again why we had not been seated and we were told we were next. After the fifth table was filled by another party I asked for a manager. A young girl showed up and asked if she could help us. She had already been briefed by the greeter and knew what the situation was. We explained what we had observed and she told us that was not allowed and should not have happened and promised us the next table. She also said the greeter had told here that our name had accidently been marked out as already seated. That was not the true because they knew who we were. We left and went the eat somewhere else. Over an hour later during our meal I received a text and phone call telling us our table was ready at the Biergarten. What an insult. Never again.More

We came to celebrate St Patrick's Day food and drinks her and I was appalled at the way things were managed. We got there at 4pm and were told an hours wait for a table. We sat in a sunny wait area and watched as...1 person was sat at a table for 10 for at least an hour drinking 1 drink, no refill. Not a good way to run a businessMore

Stopped here the other night with extended family. We lived in German for several years and always look for a good place. The atmosphere was great. Sat outside in the beer garden and it was very pleasant. Tables were socially distanced, servers wore masks. Food...was pretty good. We had a sausage platter, jaeger schnitzel, German meatball plate, and the Reuben sandwich plus the deviled eggs and potato poppers. The flavors were there, but the meatball and jaeger schnitzel needed much more gravy as half of the meat was dry. The deviled eggs (though not German) were tasty as was the kartoffel poppers which we all liked. The downsides were the potato salad and cottage potatoes which were super dry and no flavor. It seemed like they really skimped on the sauces they gave for dipping and the mustard. Granted, we didn't ask for more, but they only gave a little cup for each. The poppers definitely needed more dipping sauces since they were pretty huge and piled high on the plate. Not enough mustard for the sausages and had to ask for butter for the brown bread that came with it. The sausages were almost burned and no way to tell which was which on the plate and our server didn't know. Our server was a bit slow getting our initial order in and didn't tell us to use the tiny Q code on the end of the table so we waited around for menus that never came. All in all, we had a good experience and enjoyed the food, but some things could have been done better.More

I went there with three other people who are from Wisconsin and was looking for a good German restaurant like we have back there. Pros: 1. Spinach salad - was very good dressing was balsamic vinegar and bacon. 2. that is it. Cons: 1. Potato...salad - if you could call it that. Was potatoes and I think just chopped up pickles with some vinegar? All you could taste was the potatoes and pickles. 2. Red Cabbage - no flavor, I guess it was just cabbage. 3. Fried potatoes - looked like they were cooked a week ago. 4. Bread pudding - This is a joke, it was french toast cut in cubes with some type of frosting on it. THERE WAS NO PUDDING OF ANY KIND. Just the toast and frosting. 5. Service - Young girl who you could see was afraid of people. Won't be back, but will continue to search for a German restaurant here in southern Texas.More

We visited Krause's for dinner and were very happy with the meal. My grown daughter and I enjoyed the ""Wild Game Sausage Sampler" and an order of German potato salad. Everything was good except the kitchen seemed to have lost our order for a while....Caitlyn, our server worked to get us our meal and profusely apologized. Fortunately we were not in a rush and enjoyed our time together. Caitlyn also brought us a complimentary order of "Kartoffeln and Bier Cheese with Sausage" to make amends for the wait. The offering was delicious and rounded off our meal perfectly. The Wild Game Sampler had 3 sausages - one with wild board, one with venison and one with "jackalope" (Rabbit & Antelope) All three were delicious although our "wild game" palates are not tuned enough to know which sausage was which. Krause's has a bandstand for live music events but I don't know if they are allowing any performances due to the COVID issues. There was no music on this night. Caitlyn was a wonderful server and we had a great time on a cool March evening!More

Poor, poor service and food was cold. This was the third time we have tried. An hour and a half to get food and not everyone was served. Servers and Manager seemed unconcerned. Do not recommend.

I have been here once before, but I wanted my husband to try it. We sat outside where the band was playing because we had our fur baby with us. They had a band playing. It was like being at a mini-Wurstfest! People were dancing,...singing, having a great time, AND IT WAS A WEDNESDAY! Our waitress, Bella, was spot on when recommending a beer. Their wall of taps is almost overwhelming- ALMOST! We had Schnitzel, and it was delicious. We will return when we are back in the area1More
