I decided to try Wood's last night because they were rated 4.0 on TripAdvisor. Worst mistake I've ever made. Woody's is a bar and, just by looking around, I'm expecting a fight to break out anytime now. The smell of cigarette smoke throughout this place...really sucks. I got the double meat burger and found it to be bland at best. Whataburger isn't great but it's so much better than this burger. If you just want to get drunk, this is a good place. If you want a good burger, you'll have to go somewhere else.More

If you are a smoker, you'll like this place. Burgers are good, lacks any sides but this is really a hangout place to eat a burger and drink a cold beer. Lots of people, friendly staff.

You feel like you're in a movie when you visit Woody's, established in 1951! The place oozes charm, history, swagger, and y'all-ism! Yes, you have to wait a good bit to get a burger, but the frequent"Y'all doin' ok?" from the wait staff and the...regulars day drinking is a must if you come waaaay out here on your way to Possum Kingdom. What you spend in time is worth what you save in money as a single is less that $5 and a double is only a bit more than that. For the best Hamburgers for years Woody's is the place to go. Cold Beer . They don't have French Fries but that is ok saves room for the good burgers.

Rode over to Woody's on a Sunday afternoon. The parking lot was full on motorcycles so I expected the place to be tight inside. I was actually surprised. While it was busy the inside held everyone with room to spare. IMO - the burger is...a solid 7.5 -8. the staff is incredible and the patrons are all great. The building is an old quansa hut. Walk-in a bar that...seats only 8 on right, tables on left, pool tables , shuffle board, and darts towards rear. Bartender's/waitress all excellent. No paper menu. It's on a sign hanging from above bar. You can ordered a hamburger or a cheeseburger. But good option on extras. Jalepenos, chips, extra meat. I eat at Woody's Beer and Burgers every time I'm in Mineral Wells, Texas. Yes, its a bit of a joint, but friendly and simple. So this place got great reviews so we stopped in for lunch. First thing to know is that it is CASH ONLY!! They do have an atm that charges $2 per transaction. The menu is mainly burgers and potato chips which they serve with medium...heat jalapeño peppers. The burgers were excellent. The atmosphere is one of a smoky bar, everyone turns to look at you when you walk in and to make the typical “why is it so bright” face Dark and dingy with smoke smell and a local dive feel. Thankfully the burgers are worth it. Beers are served in schooners and looked super frosty and chilly. The prices were great too. We had 2 single burgers, 2 chips and 2 pops for $17.More
