Excellent BBQ, not Fast food.

This is authentic BBQ, not fast food. You can smell the wood burning BBQ pits and smokers cooking. Everything I’ve sampled so far is good. It gets real busy at peak hours so plan around normal meal times to avoid long waits.

Delicious but pricey

Delicious barbecue. We both had the ribs, sausage and a baked potato. It was very good A bit pricey for a quick lunch but we did enjoy every bite. Our bill was $65 for 4 ribs, 2 pieces of sausage, 2 baked potatoes and 2 drinks.

Nice BBQ and cold beer. Pay no attention to It's to expensive

Very good food. Excellent service. Realize the reviews you see saying it's to expensive are from the McDonald's set. Anything over 11 bucks person triggers their feelers! Good food about 20 bucks per person for dinner with a beer and cobbler! Plus three meats.

Tender and Tasty

The ribs were tender and spicy. I also had some Brisket and loved it. The brisket had a nice "smoke ring" but it was still tender and juicy. The Chicken and Turkey had good flavor. KD's offers four sauces; their "original" sauce was my favorite, but if you like Sweet, Hot, or Vinegar, they are available. The sides were good, but the meats and the decades old atmosphere are the best things about KD's.

Good BBQ!

I had a couple of ribs & some brisket and both were good. My only complaint is that although the ribs were large, they were not very meaty. Several varieties of BBQ Sauce that was good (I liked the sweet). Potato Salad, Cold Slaw and Beans were OK. I would go back and probably will when I am in Midland.

The prices here are outrageous!

The prices here are outrageous! I barely got any bbq brisket and 2 ribs. $20.00. Really! My husband had more meat than I did and his was only $5 more. The potato salad was absolutely gross and the coleslaw was alright. But I can go to soulmans and get more food for cheaper. If we do ever stop here again I am just getting ribs. And then they didn’t even have any pulled pork or and pit potatoes. Husband said the cherry cobbler was gross. $68 for sub par food is not worth it . Will only be back if we are desperate for something to eat.

Great food!

Really good BBQ. If it is your first time go to the back right side. The server opens the smoker and you can select your choice of meats. It smells so good! The table area has a lot of oil field ambience!

way over rated and over priced

I have ate there a couple of times and Bbq is ok but not the best I have ever had. To tell the truth there is not a great bbq place in Midland. You have to go to Llano to Coopers if you want really good Bbq.

Bar-B-Q as authentic as it gets

My brother and I ate here early on a Friday night, and it wasn’t crowded - I can only assume everybody was at the high school football game… The atmosphere is West Texas garage-like, with high ceilings, road signs and mounted deer heads on the walls, so don’t come here for a romantic evening with a date. However, if you’re looking for authentic, smoked, delicious barbecue, this is the place. Prices are reasonable (I’m from the New York area), and it’s mostly self-service. Cooked meat is priced by the pound - if your eyes are bigger than your stomach, watch out! You walk up to the smoke pit, grab a tray with a piece of butcher paper on it, and a guy carves brisket, ribs, sausage, ham, turkey and/or chicken as much as you like, and puts it on the paper. Go around the corner for beans, cornbread, pickles, cole slaw, sauce and other sides. I had brisket, ribs and turkey, and opted for the “sweet” sauce instead of “spicy”. Yum, yum, yum! Took some home because I had over-estimated my appetite, but everything was cooked to perfection, and very tasty.

Good place for Brisket

Brisket was good. Ribs were ok. Don’t get the sausage mixed in bbq sauce. Tasted weird I would go back to get the brisket, though.

One of the better bbq places in town

They have the big wood fired smoker outside cooking fresh food. Bbq is authentic and not fast food. Bbq ribs are my favorite.

Want to eat a Lot of meat

When you walk in you get to choose a whole range of BBQ meats from beef to turkey, bbq ribs, brisket, and plentybif roasts, the atmosphere is good almost reminded me of a mess hall in the army. Great food and you pay by the weight of meat you buy.

Great place for BBQ

One of my favourite places for BBQ when I’m in Texas. The sides are tasty, with smoky beans and crisp onions and peppers. Good coleslaw and fair potato salad. Their brisket is tender and very tasty; the ribs are good, and the mixed sausages are a decent assortment of the sausages they have to offer. All in all a good stop for BBQ. It’s not the cheapest place around, but it’s reasonable to feed 4 people and the quality is there.
