Glad we found this gem in the culinary desert of Playa Ingles. Where you only have tourist traps, this one was so good, we went there 3 times in our week. Everything was perfect. The great service started with a glass of sparkling wine and...root beet gazpacho. As a starter we had + braised Octopus (huge portion) + ceviche + sardines coconut lime kefir (clearly our favorite) entrees + scallops wrapped in bacon + cod + beef sirloin (perfect on point) with extra side vegetables (radish ! broccoli, zucchini, carrots all al dente) + Beef cheeks dessert + Tiramisu upside down in a glass + chocolate orgy (the only one what was not top notch, I missed heavy dark chocolate flavours like a juicy brownie, only mouse and macarons) acompanied with good wines (Bermejo from Lanzarote) We cannot wait to come back !!!!More

The dinner was our first post covid visit to the restaurant and we felt very comfortable. We had to enter with face mask and there was hand gel discretly available. We had already checked the menu on line but there was a Q code on...the table. We were welcomed with a delicious Kirsch Royale, then after our order was taken the waiter brought a small taster of cold, gazpacho type soup. We had a glass of the Lanzarote semi-sweet wine which we love. For starters we had the Tuna Carpaccio and the smoked sardines. Both dishes were exquisite and beautifully presented. Both had a mixture of flavours and textures. Amazing! For mains we had the tuna tartare and the duck tataki, again exquisite. We finished off with a couple of desserts, I can't remember the exact names but mine was a kind of walnut semifreddo and my husband had the trical fruit combo. With the bill we were given a small glass of liquor. We love Calma Chicha, the outdoor seating is perfect on a warm evening. The service discreet and correct and the waiter knew all the dishes. There was plenty of space between tables. We will certainly return, this is one of the best restaurants on the island and should not be missed.More

We had dinner here. Very friendly staff. Nice selection of Spanish dishes snd good wines. But, left with a feeling that each beautifully dish had one or two too many ingredients, like the tuna carpaccio with wasabi ice and the quail with the veal cheeks....But, worth going to.More

Amazing experience! I didn’t except a beautiful dinner like that. I went there with 5 more friends. Two of them living in Gran Canaria and they already know it. We choose dishes from A la Carte menu. Everything beautiful, everything good. The chef use a...mix of ingredients to do a “new canarian cuisine”. I choose tuna carpaccio with pine nuts and mustard ice cream (WOW), risotto with cod cheeks, artichokes e asparagus (in my opinion is better to change plate to serve it flat but good taste) and chocolate dessert with brownies and macaroons (amazing)! If I will come back in Maspalomas, I will go again! Fantastic! Service amazing and top location. Quiet, out of big tourism. I recommended it!More

This is a restaurant with a very nice atmosphere - cozy and well designed with not too loud nice background music so that it doesn’t disturb while talking to each other. We went for a menu on that evening. The food was very good, freshly...cooked and beautifully decorated as well. The staff was friendly, but seemed to be a bit stressed out on this evening. We expected more awareness from the staff. All in all it was a great first experience in this restaurant. So we will definitely visit it once again.More

This was such a find. The food was excellent. We ordered from the main menu and not the sharing menu. Every dish was fantastic, very fresh and tasty. Must try.

We’ve been coming to Calma Chicha on and off for about 10 years now, and we’ve always enjoyed the food and ambience. Last night was no exception, in fact I’d say it was the best meal we’ve ever had on Gran Canaria. We all ordered...off the a la carte for a change and all 5 of us were blown away by the choices we made, the stand out courses were the tuna carpaccio and the squid cooked in its ink - unbelievable. Lots of people have written great reviews about this place, and every one of these reviews is deserved. We had the complimentary glass of cava and the ron miel at the end, topping off a fantastic meal. We will be back next year!More

Calma Chicha is easily the best restaurant in Maspalomas area. The whole dining experience is close to perfection. It is beautifully decorated and the waiters are absolutely charming and very informative. Both menus, the set menu and the à la carte are absolutely fantastic. They...serve a complimentary Kir Royale to begin with and throughout the whole dining experience the service is impeccable. We will return here more often on our next trip.More

We had a nice evening and a nice dinner, the food was good. We had chosen the menu of the week and we did not get disappointed. It was a perfect price benefit ratio even the dessert was nothing special, either apple compote with ice...cream or Camembert Cheesecake (I will never understand why you abuse a strong tasting cheese to make a sweet dessert out of it). But as said, our choice. However, even the service was perfect and helpful, it was slightly hectic. Only two servants (the host and the waiter) are not sufficient if the restaurant is fully occupied even if you also serve a tasting menu and when you have to do wine services. The ambiance itself left us somehow confused. It did not fit to what we expected. The chairs were convenient, but if you got seated outside beyond the tent, it was slightly cold. Conclusion: food good, ambiance and service okay. We can recommend the visit for sure.More
