About
Taberna la cana is a unique place in Playa del ingles specialised in Spanish tapas, fresh meats, roasted lamb, paellas, fresh seafood and fish. A restaurant with modern design and ambient but with strong Spanish tradition in our cooking methods and flavours. Come to try our paellas made with fresh seafood from the Galician coast, fresh free range chicken from Galicia, homemade broths and high quality rice "arroz bomba". Another favourite of ours is the fresh suckling roasted lamb from Segovia. We cook the lamb for 24 hours at a low temperature with a little virgin olive oil garlic and rosemary. An amazing treat for those who love lamb. Reservations are recommended as we have limited portions

I had two meals at this place during my stay. The first time I had a seafood paella, the best I ever ate. On the second visit, I had an entrecote. Both meals were delicious, and the staff is really nice. The restaurant is also...nicely decorated and really feels like a genuine Spanish place. I'm very picky about food and don't like touristy places, so this was a hit.More

Good place for tapas! Visited with my family, and everyone went home full and happy. Good selection of dishes, both tapas and “ordinary”, and a really good sangria. Also vegetarian and vegan friendly, which is really nice. I’ve missed eating something else than pizza and...fries! The staff was also really nice and funny - you felt at home straight away!More

Stumbled across this restaurant while out for a wander. What a find. Superb food freshly cooked. Probably the best sangria I’ve had . The service was fantastic, relaxed friendly atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit

I was looking forward to this restaurant having researched before leaving home and was not disappointed. The atmosphere was very pleasant and welcoming I had the shoulder of lamb which was so tender you could have ate it with a spoon the chips and extra...veg were superb. My wife had the breast of chicken and said it was the best she had ever had, will return for another special meal on our last night.More

We have been coming to Spain and it’s islands 30 years, a pair of food and wine junkies. At this restaurant we found a new champion fish and seafood paella which displaced one of 25 years standing! Their tapas are amazing and lifted the bar...for everything that is to come in future years. The team here are friendly and talented sharing their knowledge And encouraging us to try new flavours and local delicacies, mojo sauce over potatoes may not sound magical but it was. Thank you for the highlight of our stay on Gran Canaria.More

We came across this absolute gem on our last day and wish we'd found it sooner! We were specifically looking for Tapas and we were not disappointed! The service from the minute we walked in was fantastic. We chose 6 items plus some fresh bread...and aioli and they were brought to us staggered, which was timed perfectly. We had the prawns with black aioli, a special calamari, papas bravas, garlic and white wine mushrooms, small chorizo-style sausages in red wine, and pork belly with mojo sauce, and we couldn't fault any of it. The service was friendly, professional and attentive without being intrusive. He was ran off his feet with customers but the level of service never faltered. He recommended the local delicacy - fried milk dessert which my partner ordered and I tried, don't let the name of it put you off! It is stunning! Great value for money as well for 6/8 tapas, dessert and 2 bottles of wine. It's so worth finding this beautiful restaurant near the Irish centre, can highly recommend the food and service. Thank you so much!More

Great tapas and a very good sangria. We came twice and among other things had the papas arrungadas, papas fritas, sausage in wine sauce, the shrimps and the cheeses. Across the street there is a Finnish restaurant with people eating pizza. Those are the sort...of people who would give a good restaurant like this a bad review. (Nothing bad about Finns general).More

Thanks to TA ( and Google ) we made a lengthy trek here yesterday and came back again today and OMG it was worth it. The service is great and the food on a different planet to anywhere we have found in the area. We...have had - and would reccomend, superb Pata Negra ham , fresh anchovies with roasted peppers, sausages in red wine reduction , Padron peppers, Goats cheese salad with pine nuts and grilled pork belly with Mojo sauce . They also specialise in Paella which looked authentic and smelled amazing so we will have to come back for that ! highly recommended. Very reasonable prices for the quality and service - something of a good food oasis in MaspalomasMore

It was certainly above average but not a restaurant I will remember in a year. Food was good quality and dessert very nice. Our waiter was very kind and amiable and gladly ordered our whole company of 12 taxis. I highly recommend the chocolate cake...dessert with hot cream inside, delicious!More
