This place is a gem! I had a beef filet that was very nice with a side of ratatouille. My husband had rib steak with a side is gratin potatoes that were the best EVER! I truly envied the racleet served at the next table. Go in very hungry if you order that! Service and wine were very nice. Please... More

You need to book in advance for this great place - if you are a carnivore you will love it - and I am! We sat with a view of the wood fired griddle and whilst this meant we were pretty warm it made for an interesting experience seeing the different steaks being cooked to perfection by the skilled chef.... We were in Saint Gervais for a week and ate at L'Affiche, L'Eterle and Le Galeta. All were good in their own ways but Le Galeta was a class apart in terms of food quality. We went on Bastille Day and normally a roaring wood fire in the middle of July would not be welcome. But with the Mercury plunging... More

Almost hidden behind the main square there is this great restaurant :). When we arrived the smell of burning wood was coming out of there. The food was just plain amazing. The salad was perfectly balanced. And the cheese fundu was the best I have every had. Combine that with very friendly staff and you got a place you can't... More

We came to this restaurant from our hotel in Sallanches. It was worth the visit. The anturage, the atmosphere and the service were wonderfull. So was the food. The dishes were tasty, big enough and reasonable prices as for this area. I can recommend the meat on grill (you get small grill in the table and fresh meat and you... More

When you enter la Galeta you right away feel welcomed. The owner makes sure evrything is fine at every moment of your meal. The cooking of meat on the fire is a nice option or you can choose from a variety of local dishes. We will be back for sure.

Went here on recommend from someone I bumped into. Booked a table and when we walked in it was buzzing. Food and service so very good. Just over 200e for a family of five with drinks, so not too bad.

We eat at the restaurant every time we visit St Gervais. The quality of the food and service are always great. The family run business provide a unique experience as the food is prepared on the open fire inside the restaurant. The meat is cooked to everyone's individual request and the accompaniments such as the fries, dauphinois potatoes and French... More

This restaurant is a typical "savoyard", the staff is really kind (except for like one 😅), the food is really good. However, we waiting a while before being served. I just personally don't like one thing about french restaurants is that there are 2 shifts (most of them) most of them from 7pm till 9 and 9pm till 11. So... More

Arrived here for a 9 pm booking and were told we had to wait. We could see empty tables in the restaurant but weren't shown to one of these - we were told to wait in the entrance. People coming in after us were shown to their tables. I asked why we weren't being shown to a table and was... More
