We have been to the Jolly Coachman in the past many times and were always satisfied with the food, especially the brunch. Have not gone there for a few years. It was a beautiful sunny day and we decided to sit in the “almost” completed...More

Walking into the pub you feel right at home. The staff are friendly and the food amazing. A large patio for the balmy summer nights when you want to get together with friends. I highly recommend this pub and it will be on my list...More

Been here dozen's of times. Rebecca and her Kitchen staff really do a great job, and blazingly fast as well. Top this off with Brett's team of servers, and you simply can't go wrong. Kudos to you all

The prime rib is pre-cut and not carved from a big roast as informed. Therefore it has lost most of its natural juice. Since they had to reheat the piece of meat it was more well-done than I like. Service is average.

This is a nice community place. While the picture looks kind of high end, it is actually a pretty basic place to get a drink and have some food. More along the lines of pub food than fine dining. You go here for atmosphere and...More

Jolly Cochman used to be my favorite for Chicken Wings before they added flour/breading on their wings. Their steak and ribs are one of the best. I love the roasted lamb, ribs and coleslaw on their Friday lunch buffet. Will always go back here. Highly...More

I didn't know this pub offered a brunch. We were pleasantly surprised. We had initially tried White Spot, but they were in the midst of renovations so we headed off to the JC. We arrived right when they opened the doors at 11:00 on Sunday....More

Nice atmosphere and great servers. However, I cannot give a thumbs up to the food we ordered. The nachos and chicken wings seemed too dry. Not sure when I visit family in the area if I would give it a second chance.

Description
The Jolly Coachman is an English Tudor style pub, well known for its great food and its atmosphere. Marilyn Sanders bought The Jolly Coachman on Ford Road eight years ago and has since dedicated her time to creating a menu that offers selection and quality. “I hang my hat on the food,” she says. “You can go anywhere for a beer. You can’t go anywhere for a great meal at a great price.”The menu boasts a mix between traditional pub fare and gourmet entrees featuring beef, chicken and seafood. There is a different food special every day of the week, including Prime Rib Fridays and New York Steak on the weekend. “I only buy the best beef, and the best produce and the best seafood that money can buy,” Sanders says. “I don’t cheap out on anything.” The Jolly Coachman also offers nightly drink specials. Customers can sip on a wide selection of local and imported drafts, bottled beers, wines, coolers and cocktails. The Jolly Coachman has undergone many changes since Sanders became owner including a new kitchen, bar, patio, and washrooms.“I’ve just about changed everything,” she says. However, throughout the renovations Sanders has maintained the pub’s cozy atmosphere. The interior still features exposed red brick walls, a large fireplace, wooden tables and street-lamp lighting fixtures.”It’s sort of your living room away from home,” says Sanders.“It’s just truly a neighbourhood pub where everyone knows everybody. It’s kind of like Cheers used to be.”Sports fans can watch every pay-per-view hockey game and UFC fight on one of the 34 flatscreen TVs in the pub.The Jolly Coachman also organizes bus trips to games in Vancouver. While sipping on an ice-cold pint, customers can try their luck at the gaming centre. The Jolly Coachman carries all B.C. Lottery products including 6-49, Super 7, Keno, Scratch & Win, and pull tabs, as well as Lotto Max and Knock Out 21.The pub opens every day for breakfast at 11 a.m. and closes at midnight Sunday through Thursday, and 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Whether visiting for drinks or a meal customers will always find exceptional service, value and food at The Jolly Coachman.
