We had dinner here last week and thought the quality of the food and service was amazing! The waiters were attentive and the food was delicious.

Arrived into the bar area for drinks and were served some excellent tapas, absolutely perfect. Moving up into the restaurant we discovered a charming but cool room and this became a theme of the restaurant. Everything tastes excellent but is served cold or cool. Such a pity because it detracts from a very good meal. Cool food served on cold... More

I have been to Fonda de Genera a couple of times. When I have a business dinner, I do take people there. The menu is vast and the quality of food is great. Besides, the views of the plaza is quite nice, specially during spring and fall, when the windows are opened. The service is also great.

We had dinner there, and it was the best dinner we had in Escorial (we were there for 5 days). We had fish - it was great. The place doesn't have a terrace, but it is in the second floor, and the view from windows is cozy. Don't go for breakfast there, though. Very, very bad churros. It was really... More

Had a really nice lunch here. Was an extensive menu del dia at 25 euros and worth every penny. Quality food well cooked and presented - definitely better than others in the area. The steak was some of the best ever. On the first floor so entrance a bit difficult to find and is over a bar. Nice bottle of... More

I have been traveling through France, Portugal, and Spain for the last 6 months and this is the first time a restaurant had no one who spoke English and no menu in English. Besides having to fumble with translator everything I had was delicious. A pimento stuffed with goat cheese, then a great vingerette salad with quail, and a steak... More

If you are not in hurry, this is your place! The food is good, nothing special, but fine. Very classical! But we came on the work day, we ordered a menu of the day and we waited 2(!) hours from the beginning till the end(((

We went there for the tapas bar because we didn't want to eat a big menu. It was nice! The bar is cosy and the tapas were very good and often well presented. The wine was good too. If you want to spend a relaxing evening with friends or family, the bar is great. And the price was more than... More

Recommended by our hotelier as a place to dine.. Cynically we suspected some kind of vested interest on his part, but no, it turns out he has never eaten there or even set foot in the place. He steered us towards the restaurant based solely on all of the positive comments made by his hotel guests following their dining experience there....
