After wandering around Escorial I came across this restaurant and thought the menu of the day looked ok. Wrong!!! The old guy came to give us our menus and wasn't impressed when we asked for the menu of the day. The way he spoke to his staff in front of the customers was embarrasing and if I had been one... We were attracted to go in by the cheaper menu than other places around. But we then found out that there were hidden costs such as drinks and coffee that there were not included. Small pineapple juice and small beer costed 5,50 euros. They are not honest in advertising their prices. The quality is also very poor as dishes come... More

Had lunch here on a Friday, sat outside on the terrace ( main square). After 10 minutes one waiter brought us the menu, after 5 more minutes asked for the drinks, very polite. We then asked if they have also a set lunch menu, as it was not mentioned in the normal menu. Another waitress brought us a very small... More

Stopped there for lunch after visiting El Escorial. It is in a great location one block from el Escorial. Outdoor seating is comfortable and menu is very typical Spanish fare. In my opinion, the food is good, but not great. Prices are pretty high considering. As you can see from the photos, we tried a lot of their different dishes.... More

The waiters are not allowed to take your order , just some old owner , he doesn't pay attention what you ask sometimes because He is too busy checking his employees. Never come back

This cafetería was recommended to us by the receptionist at our hotel (De Martín) as having great food and inexpensive prices. Wrong! If only we'd checked Trip Advisor beforehand! Firstly the positives: the location is perfect with a terrace situated in the main square, and the food is OK, but nothing more. However, these positives are far outweighed by the... More

We normally stop here for a drink. We sometimes do order a few tapas, but mainly we have a drink it is right in front of La Plaza. They can get a bit pushy asking you to eat. I guess the owner keeps his staff on their toes to make sure we order something to eat. The wines are good... More

I had a kind of weird experience in this small restaurant/bar today. I got there quite hungry after roaming the town center - many places were closed or completely full - and I was looking just for something to eat, nothing fancy. I sat inside, while most of the clientele was outside, but there were other people in the room... More
