Just visited this place. The portions are very generous yet our octopus starter was very salty. The main leg of lamb was very well cooked and tasted wonderful, yet again the potatoes where salty

This is a place where everyone should stop by, at least once, if you stay in Alcala. I am 100% sure you will recommend this place everybody else, they have a special menu that is called your birthday menu, if you come with 4 other people, you have a nice discount. Is not a cheap place but, trust me, it... More

Located near the author of Don Quixote home town, I visited here in February '16 and found the selection of dishes served incredibly exciting. Raw tuna carpaccio and many dishes that I'd never heard of before. It helped that I was eating with several Madridians who knew the best dishes. We had a superb evening with excellent red wine. Highly... More

Went with a colleague for lunch before travelling to airport - would loved to have stayed longer. Had the Tourist menu comprising of a variety of starters, including a very generous portion of fois gras. Huge and beautifully cooked steaks for main course, sadly had to rush through pudding to catch flight home.

I was there for a business lunch a few years ago, and I have to say that the place is very beautiful. The food is this restaurant is Spanish, traditional, and very tasty: Chefs are excellent and the waiters are very attentive, helpful and friendly. The place is very elegant, classy, and its dome is a truly wonderful if you... More

This is a great location for a meal. As a former convent, the tapestries are remarkable and the seating and decor are so welcoming and authentic. Best to request an English menu or server. Our server was frustrated by our inability to translate the menu and when there was a problem with the rareness of the meat there was some... More

Stunning location for a restaurant, it is an old convent. Food was excellent , had differculty with menu as only had one with some English translation, waiters had no English with the exception of one waiter who arrived as we were finished with some English. Maybe they don't get many tourist speaking English. Food was delicious and wonderful surroundings.

Family group of 7 enjoyed a great meal. The only difficulty was the language translation. While one english menu was available, it would have been better to have 7 of them. A medium steak request was provided rare and, when returned, was replaced by a very rare steak, due to misunderstanding. However, there was no difficulty with a fish dish... More

We have stayed in Alcala on a number of visits now, and always find it an amazing cultural place, but lacking in really good Spanish food restaurants. Tonight, we had our best meal in Alcala by a long way. The restaurant is set within an old monastery and is formal, but with a good feeling in it, and friendly yet... More

Indeed, this was the last of three wonderful restaurants we dined at during a business conference in Alcalá de Henares, Spain. Set in a former monastery, it was easy to lose one's imagination in the atmosphere of its ancient walls, draped with banners and trimmings of an era long past. We ate in a party of about 70, so had... More
