I had the quail as listed on the appetizer menu, but it was a complete meal, with yummy smashed potatoes and grillled veggies. The quail was wrapped in bacon and bits of jalapeno inserted in the flesh to keep it moist. So Good! Not spicy!...Loved it!More

Ordered the Fajita plate. It was good, but arrived luke warm. They toast their tortillas which is nice, but only give you two and then up charge $1.50 for two more tortillas. It came with a side of ranch beans which were also good, but...barely warm. Keep in mind that I arrived when the place was maybe 25% full. Waiter was polite but inattentive. I found when I got home & had better light that waiter added i5 % gratuity to my ticket & left a line below the total titled tip. I added a tip because I was not advised that there was an automatic gratuity added &...the lighting was not good enough for me to notice it. It is a scam to trick the trusting people who eat there. We had dinner with my family and my soon-to-be daughter-in-law before all the wedding things started. It was very nice and the food was good. It was a tad noisy but that is too be expected given all things going on.
Best restaurant in McAllen, small in size and menu. But great food and well prepared. Hard to find, not a lot of parking but well worth it
We have the most atrocious experience ever. We ended up walking out after an hour of waiting. At least 4 couples passed us up and reached out to the manager 2 times about being passed up. From out of town so I chose this restaurant because it had such good reviews. The night I was there it was very disappointing and way overpriced for the quality of the food. The guac appetizer was really not tasty at all. The worst were...the fajitas. Stringy beef, barely warm rice and cold beans. The waiter was, well, distracted. Maybe they were understaffed? I had Chicken Chowder that tasted great, but had no chicken. The Butter Milk Fried Chicken was a very small piece of very salty chicken. The mashed potatoes were cold like they just came from the refrigerator. I should have gone next door to Whataburger...for half the price and a better meal.More
Ordered the Texas Fried Chicken sandwich with Jalapeño straws - $12. The food was cooked in bad/old oil and tasted bad. The service was poor even though there were hardly any customers. Disappointed. Do not recommend and will not go back.
This was our first foray out to eat since Feb. We picked the restaurant because they had a nice outdoor patio. We went at lunch time and had the entire patio to ourselves. We sat next to the water fountain. They turned on the ceiling...fans for us and even put ice in the cooler that then blows cool Air your way. We felt very safe. We wore our masks until or appetizer arrived. The waiter had a mask and gloves. The menu was a little different than what was on line. I realizeca lot of restaurants are doing that. There was still plenty to choose from though. We decided to share, that way we could have a few courses. Ordered the ahi tuna ceviche. It came with corn chips and was very good. Also had jicama and was on top of advocado. We then shared a wedge salad. Nice crisp lettuce, a little balsamic as well as blue cheese dressing. Plenty of bacon bits too. Our entree was thecflank steak with chimchurri sauce, cilantro rice, and black beans. We ordered the steak medium rare and it was perfect. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. We will be back. Our server Jorge was attentive and checked on us and kept our ice tea glasses filled. He didn't have an issue with us sharing and brought us extra plates.More
With all the COVID issues going on I was really leery to go into any done in establishment. I decided it would be a good time as only a few people could be in the restaurant right now. The restaurant is beautiful with seating inside...and out. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Our server, Alfonso, was great. He answered all our questions about the menu as well as many other questions we had with the COVID going on. We ordered a bottle of wine and had some cerviche for an appetizer. Some of the best we've had. I ordered berrimundi for an entree and my husband had the shrimp fire pasta. Wd also had tiramisu for desssrt. All of the food was beyind wonderful. The staff all sore gloves and masks. The restaurant was very clean plus the staff continually sanitized everything. We'll definitely go back...hopefully they'll be able to open at 50% by next week. We were in McAllen for 3 nights. After eating here the first night, we returned the next two nights. The menu is extensive. The food it top- notch and the service is great. We all (group of 4) recommend it.
The place is very nice, easy access to the other places like shopping malls and other business establishments. The food is authentic with superb taste!!! I’m planning to visit this place again with my family and friends.
