A colleague recommended we stop here for lunch. She really loves this place and raves about it all the time. First of all, the service was top-notch. The complimentary salsa was delicious, not too spicy, and served warm. They also serve a type of refried bean/chorizo dip which was yummy as well. Hard not to fill up on chips and... More

Have eaten at the Palenque Grill many times and never had a bad meal. Waiters are always attentive and service is quick, however, food is always prepared when ordered. Portions are large and very tasty, not overly spicy, can always add their sauce if desired.

Been there several times for parties. Not fond of the food and restaurant is very loud and crowded most of the time. They opened a second one in North McAllen. I'very been there twice. Better atmosphere, but food is still not the best.

Grew up in LA where there is the best carnitas meat. I have eaten here twice on business trips. It does not disappoint. The flavor is fantastic.

I wasn't expecting such flavorful food. From the free bean dip and chips to the entrees. My husband loved the interior Mexican food. I would love to come back here again and try something else.

Prices are normally very high, however recently they ran a fifty percent off special. Shrimp cerviche good fried shrimp good mole enchiladas good Caesar salad good matamoros tacos good fajitas good, but you will pay high prices if ordering at regular prices service good.

I was on a quick fly-in/fly-out business call to the Valley. Since my plane didn't leave until 7:45pm, I had time for dinner. I had eaten at Palenque Grill a year before and liked it so decided to go back. One year later it was just as good if not better. Being solo I sat at the bar and started... More

It is 1974 when Juan Francisco "Pancho" Ochoa begins his journey into the restaurant business. It initiates a wonderful family tradition, with the UNIQUE TASTE of great Mexican food. On January 6th, 1975 Pancho creates "El Pollo Loco" concept in his small hometown of Guasave, located on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. In 1980, this concept becomes the first Mexican restaurant chain to go go across the border, opening its first store in Los Angeles, California on Alvarado Ave. and 6th St. Pancho's passion continues in 1986, when he creates a new and innovating concept in Mexican food. On July 1st, 1987 he opens the first "Taco Palenque" with a distinctive quality, UNIQUE TASTE and good service that quickly developed and gained a good reputation throughout South Texas. On July 31st, 2005 Pancho and his son Charles, with the support of their family, open Palenque Grill in Laredo, Texas. The Ochoa family introduce Flerida Ochoa's (Pancho's wife) family recipes, creating a menu with excellent dishes of Mexican culinary traditions. On behalf of the Ochoa family, we thank you for visiting our small piece of Mexico. We are delighted to be able to serve you now in Laredo, McAllen and San Antonio, Texas.
