My husband and I went for a date night. We were not disappointed! The atmosphere was fun and very traditional. We enjoyed our experience and the food was delicious!

Very friendly wait staff. Prompt, efficient and helpful with menu choices. Had the green chili enchiladas and the wife had the pork tacos. Both very good. Recommended.

Upscale atmosphere and authentic Mexican food. Upscale service from the staff. I always feel pampered when I lunch there with my lady friends. (from the MRS.)

Yes, the title is correct, I do mean true authentic tasting food. I think it is by far the best Mexican food restaurant in the Rio Grande Valley. They offer some dishes you really do not find in other restaurants. Their specialties include flavors from many different regions of Mexico. I know that for a fact since I work in... More

Food is good, portions are big. The chips and chorizo with beans they serve is so delish. Its a bit pricey but the food makes up for it. Service is excellent. Would recommend for out of towners.

Best option for more than taqueria style Mexican food. Large menu with something for everyone. Portions are huge. Mention its your birthday and you get the birthday hat and Happy Birthday sung to you. Busy every night so be prepared to wait on Fridays and Saturdays.

Love this restaurant, I especially recommend getting their enchiladas callejeras and carnitas. I love how they celebrate birthdays and make them so special with a picture frame right away. Definitely a perfect place for family events.

Very tasty upscale Mexican. I love Mexican food but, this restaurant takes traditional dishes and makes them into a gourmet meal.

We stopped at Palenque Grill for lunch and it was a treat. We ordered the Pachuga de Pollo al Chipotle and Tostada with a side of white rice. The chicken was amazing, tostado was tasty and the rice was equally delicious. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was pleasant. We will come back!

It is 1974 when Juan Francisco "Pancho" Ochoa begins his journey into the restaurant business. It initiates a wonderful family tradition, with the UNIQUE TASTE of great Mexican food. On January 6th, 1975 Pancho creates "El Pollo Loco" concept in his small hometown of Guasave, located on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. In 1980, this concept becomes the first Mexican restaurant chain to go go across the border, opening its first store in Los Angeles, California on Alvarado Ave. and 6th St. Pancho's passion continues in 1986, when he creates a new and innovating concept in Mexican food. On July 1st, 1987 he opens the first "Taco Palenque" with a distinctive quality, UNIQUE TASTE and good service that quickly developed and gained a good reputation throughout South Texas. On July 31st, 2005 Pancho and his son Charles, with the support of their family, open Palenque Grill in Laredo, Texas. The Ochoa family introduce Flerida Ochoa's (Pancho's wife) family recipes, creating a menu with excellent dishes of Mexican culinary traditions. On behalf of the Ochoa family, we thank you for visiting our small piece of Mexico. We are delighted to be able to serve you now in Laredo, McAllen and San Antonio, Texas.
