Went to the drive-thru for sandwiches and sides. The staff seemed bothered to be at work, but they got our order right. We got the 'pigout'- four pulled pork sandwiches, plus a half-slab of ribs, a side of potato salad and beans. The sides were decent, the ribs were acceptable but a bit fattier than I am accustomed to for... More

The signage outside implies this is a BBQ spot but the secret is they are much more. Down home service and great catfish filets cooked light and crispy and not greasy. As far as the BBQ side of the menu I can highly recommend the pulled pork. Definitely multiple repeat trips.

I was looking for BBQ in Marshall yesterday as i passed through on I-20. I pulled up to this place and was hesitant to even order here. this is not a BBQ joint (as smokehouse implies) it is a grill. Perhaps the grill food is good, but the BBQ i had was the worst i've ever had. i ordered turkey... More

Porkys may say smokehouse and grill, and don't get me wrong, they have excellent barbecue, but my favorite thing at Porkys is the fish plate. You can choose the 1 piece or 2 piece, which really means 2 or 4 pieces, of deep fried catfish, served with all the fixins and sides of your choice. You won't be disappointed!

Passing through Marshall, TX while traveling, decided to stop for lunch. Preferring locally owned, off the beaten track places over the burger and fast food chains, I found Porky's. I tried the two meat combo plate with smoked sausage and pulled pork, and with sides of beans and potato salad. It was all very good. Very tasty sides. The Beans... More

The food is absolutely fresh and to die for. We had the BBQ dinner with pulled pork, turkey with a side of fries and beans for my hubby and he ate it all, although the portion was quite big. I had the BBQ dinner with ribs and turkey wit a side of homemade potato salad and coleslaw. I couldn't finish... More

I go to school across the street and decided to have lunch here. I ordered a sliced beef sandwich. The bricket was terrible. There was no smoke ring at all. The place says smokehouse so i assumed they actually smoked their brisket. Brisket tasted like they cooked it in an oven. The best part of the sandwich was the bun.... More

My husband had the chicken and I had the best fried catfish I have ever eaten!!!!!! Our service was as good as the food. My baked potato was huge and amazing, the coleslaw was the best my husband said his chicken was so juicy he wanted to lick his plate. Also the people that were eating there were the friendliest... This place is well known in the area and a great spot for BBQ. The Porky Pig Sandwich is the signature dish but really almost anything is a good portion at a reasonable price and of course delicious.
