My first trip here was after 2 long days of a photo shoot and I was so hungry and tired I probably would have been just as happy up the street at the Dairy Queen. Every part of my visit here was beyond expectation. From the first jalapeno laced margarita, to the last spoonful of the dessert I did not... More

I loved my two gin martinis delivered by a very kind and gracious server. Indeed, the service and atmosphere were excellent. My Texas wedge salad was very good, but I had a hard time finding the lettuce for the dressing even though it was all tasty. The escargot were right on! First meal in Marfa. I can't say for sure... Marfa is, or has become a foodie Mecca. We only had one night to sample local offerings, but Cochineal was our our first choice. We were not disappointed. The menu changes quite often, so I won't talk specifics. However, everything was well done, cooked with finesse, and seasoned perfectly. On the downside, service was naive, clumsy, but well intended. It's... More

I was in Marfa for only 2 nights and went to Cochineal based on some of the TripAdvisor reviews. I was delighted! First of all, the ambiance is that perfect blend of Marfa-hip, casual-yet-stylish...very cool accents and decor, especially the ceiling. I ate inside but the outdoor patio was pleasant, even though it was middle of summer. I've experienced pretty... More

We arrived for our reservation for two people with three people and the wait staff accommodated us without any problem. Then six other friends arrived and we moved mid-dinner to join them and the waitress took it all in stride. The food was really fresh and good. I had the duck breast with logenberry sauce and it was moist, tender... More

This place is just all sorts of wonderful. Prepare to be amazed, surprised and just loved by foodies. Come here if you are in Marfa. I mean it -- don't miss this place. Artichoke hearts that melt in your mouth. Handcrafted cocktails. Fabulous made to order desserts. Smallish menu but fantastic. Come here. Make it happen.

Excellent! I especially loved the cheese soufflé and the cheese biscuits were fantastic. The setting and interior are perfect for Marfa - continuing the minimalist art that is Marfa. It was easy to talk with adjoining diners. I love the restaurant, but the waitstaff is good, but a little inattentive.

We read the reviews and were expecting a delicious meal. The food was more than delicious. The Walu was so buttery and rich, and while the Ribeye was slightly overcooked, the flavor more than made up for it. Very friendly service. We will definitely visit again!
