My husband and I ate at Cochineal several years ago and it was so very good. Returning to Marfa, we were excited about eating there again. What a disappointment. Previously they had an excellent wine list and menu. Not so this time. The food was terrible and the wine list hardly existed. This is our last time at this restaurant!

The soufflé and the quail was mouthwatering. I took my sons here to enjoy some fine dining, but what we didn't expect was the quaintness of the restaurant. The courtyard is wonderful in the evening with the low lighting and the nice dry western air. The dessert was so good the first night, we went back a second night just... More

Shared a bottle a wine, along with the perfectly fried artichoke hearts and salad wedges. Glad I didn't order the gazpacho, which was spicier than I can eat. We (five) ladies shared 2 orders of ribs, which were crispy on the outside, tender and delicious, and unusually spiced. Also enjoyed every bite of the warm chocolate mousse cake.

I was really hoping to love this place after so many rave reviews. We made reservations, arrived on time and were promptly seated. Upon ordering drinks though, it was apparent we were being rushed - to which I told the server that we would like to take our time since we were on vacation after all! Cochineal's cocktail program was... More

We went for dinner. It's best to have reservations if you don't want to wait. Was very busy the evening we are there. Service and food were very good. We sat outside and enjoyed the unique area.

Thank you for your hospitality and culinary experience! Bravo! I really liked that the restaurant was quiet and intimate, the ground outside were lovely although I sat inside by the window to look out. Those fried artichokes were the best thing EVER. OMG.!

Good food and quite genuine Good service (despite over cooked meal when specified medium-rare & too oily fried artichoke) But somewhat too expensive (38$ for ribeye steak , 15$ for a glass of wine) ... Are we in NYC ?

We went by every local's recommendation and came here for dinner. The menu changes constantly and is delicious, the prices are also very reasonable.

Small portions and overpriced. Atmosphere is good but our casserole was cold in places and the duck was over spiced. Price not reasonable for quality.
