2 toddlers and 5 adults. Great food and service. They pushed together two tables for us and were great. Easy to access and wasn’t too busy.

And I’m glad she did. We were going back to our home near Houston from Georgetown, Texas. We had just past it up as my wife was looking on Yelp. She said it was the highest rated restaurant in this area. And for good reason....I had the 290 omelette and it was delicious. My wife had the breakfast club sandwich and it was equally amazing. The service was friendly. The grits were good as well. Creamy. Great stop on the way home.More
The food was delicious and had the welcoming flavors of homemade food. I would have definitely taken a picture of the food that was ordered but hunger and the delicious quality of the food beat me to it.
we had breakfast there yesterday morning (actually our second time there) after a bad hotel experience. Family that live in Manor and who dine at Cafe 290 often, asked us to meet them there. The service is good and the food is great. It's like...home style food in a home style setting, nothing fancy, but family friendly atmosphere, reminds you of eating at grandma's but with other people. I surely recommend and will go back; just need to find another hotel to stay in.More
Stopped in for breakfast on a weekday. I ordered the traditional breakfast. Eggs over medium, bacon, Hash browns and biscuit. Choices were fried potatoes or grits. I chose the hash browns and had a side order of grits. The grits were good and creamy! No...need to add anything really. Nice big soft biscuit. A great country breakfast. Very freshly brewed coffeeMore
Made a pitstop to get breakfast on a week day and I was able to be seating and received food quick. The staff was super friendly and the food was the best!!! You won't leave hungry that's for sure.
The food was delicious. Reminded me of some home cooking that grandma use to serve. Service was good and fast. The place was very busy but cozy. Like eating at home. Will definitely be back to try the breakfast.
All the food is great, but definitely save room for pie! My favorite meal is the fried green tomato BLT and a piece of coconut pie!
This was a nice stop on our way out of Austin heading back to Houston. Just a basic dinner that serves up a great traditional breakfast. Friendly staff, good service, and really good food. Perfect way to start a trip back home.
The food was great. I had the fried chicken sandwich with bacon and it was top notch. The onion rings were delicious. The tollhouse pie was tasty (although I prefer mine without nuts). My friends got some kind of chocolate pie and it was to...die for. The service was not great, though. The restaurant was not very busy when we were there, but we had to follow-up with our waitress several times regarding our appetizers, she brought water instead of the milk my daughter requested, and it took a while to get refills of drinks. Toward the end of our meal the waitress said that she was sorry we had come at such a busy time, but there were only a few other occupied tables in the restaurant. I have no idea if she was serious or not. All that said, I would still try this place again because my meal was so yummy. I would've given them 5 stars had it not been for the service (and I only would've given 2 stars if I was rating the service alone).More
Heading to Houston for the day & stopped in for a home cooked breakfast! First time there for 2 of the 4 of us. Excellent service & the food hit the spot!! Eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and the TEXAS toast all came out perfect! My husband...got a breakfast & added french toast....WOW!!! It was beautiful & tasted amazing!More
God food. Really liked the burgers, the sweet potato fries and the BLT sandwich. Nice home style setting with a local clientele. Nice place for brwakfady6, lunch and dinner.
I had the green BLT with avocado and fried green tomatoes. Would have it again. The sweet potato fries were also very good. Husband tried the burger and said it was okay. The buttermilk pie was very good and some of the best sweet tea...I’ve had on the road. They even gave us free to go cups.More
There may be 3 fast food burger places aound this diner, but if i’m in the mood for a really good one, this is the place I will always go now. Not just that, the pie is the bomb!
My son and I were just driving through and wanted a good old fashioned burger but once we had the menu it was hard to choose a dish. I had a BLT on Texas toast with fried green tomatoes. My goodness Was it Devine. The...bacon was thick and the piled on avocado on Texas toast. The onion rings were thick and tasty. My son had a very large hot dog, much larger that we expected but very good. The wiener was grilled and covered in home made chili, onions and jalapeños topped the dog. He even made room for a coconut pie. Worth driving this route again for the great food.More
