Fantastic food; tried a little of each available barbecued meat and each was melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Loved the sides, as well - creamed corn and cole slaw! On the way out, treated ourselves to some country treats (Jalapeno Peanut Brittle!).

Love the food! Very consistent, great food and service! The baked potatoes are always one of my favorites even though it's a barbeque place. Just wish it was a little more affordable for a large family. We would definitely eat there more often. They should consider doing a daily special or coupon deals or something! Other than that, it's great!... More

Very tasty BBQ. The sausage in particular is pretty tasty. Good value for money. Rustic decor as normal in a BBQ joint. Service is all up the front counter but very efficient.

Love the food and service served by the pound on paper with yummy bread and the baked potatoes are giant and great stuffed with meat.

Even though this place is a chain, it's my favorite BBQ place in Lubbock. The brisket is amazing, and their sausage is good, too. They also serve breakfast burritos, which are really good, too!

Had lunch there for the first time a few weeks ago. Although I was born and raised in Texas, it had been some time since I had been there and I wanted to have BBQ on this trip. I have eaten at a number of really good BBQ places and I'll add this to the list. Very casual dining. You... More

The BBQ was okay I've had better. But not to shabby ... If you like to have your own table without someone breathing down your neck I wouldn't go you have to share tables with people ....

This is a good place to come in with a group when you want some good BBQ. Dine in or carry out with drive through. Good breakfast burritos too. Iced down bottled beer selection.

Menu offers typical BBQ fare. Chicken, ribs, pork, brisket and sausage. We had chicken, brisket and sausage. The chicken was very good indeed. There was WAY too much fat left on the brisket and the sausage was just so so at best. They don't offer plates (paper or otherwise). You eat on a large piece of paper. Prices were high... More

Stopped at Rudy's, on my way home. Ordered the ribs, which were cut in front of me. Picked up some beans and desert from their warmer. Paid, and proceeded to picnic tables. Went to drink machine, and picked up onions, pickles at condiment bar. I really should have left, then and there! Ribs were dry and tough, beans were cold... More

Description
Just north of San Antonio, at the edge of the Texas Hill Country, sits the small community of Leon Springs. Founded in the 1800s by Max Aue, Leon Spring's cityscape changed when Max's son, Rudolph, opened a one-stop gas station, garage, and grocery store. Bar-B-Q was added to the operation in 1989, and Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q has been serving up tasty food ever since. The same original recipes that built Rudy's Leon Springs' reputation are now available throughout the Southwest. Our pits are 100% wood fired with oak, a slower burning wood than the mesquite used by others. Along with time and oak, we cook with a dry spice that ensures each plate of Rudy's Bar-B-Q is perfectly ready for you. Apply some of our famous "Sause" and dinner is served.
