The band was really good. I love the inside of this place. The service was a little slow, but overall the food was tasty esp. the chocolate dessert. I would come back.

My husband and I dined at this fabulous restaurant along with our nephew and niece. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the low lighting was perfect. Jazz band blended so well with the evening. We ordered drinks and appetizers along with dinner. We were never...rushed and service was very good. Our meals included the Chipolte chicken, steaks, and the Cajun pasta. We saved room for desert and don’t leave without dessert. Crème brûlée and chocolate cake were excellent! Overall one of the best restaurants we’ve been to in quite some time. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Pricey but we’ll worth every minute and bite.More

In town on business so trying to have a nice dinner to relax and unwind. Good: atmosphere is nice. The waitress was friendly and tried to be helpful. The Bad: I was seated upstairs behind the big wine stand at a table that the chairs...that were way too short for the table. I felt like a 2 year olds eating at the “big table”. These are not chairs to be used in a restaurant, they are an accent chair. Every time one of the waiters walked by you can feel the floor move. I ordered the beef soup and the squash lasagna. The soup was ok but certainly not outstanding. I expected for $18 the lasagna would be a complex melody of flavors blended so that each ingredient enhanced the others. The squash lasagna unfortunately was a one note dish. That note was garlic. Heavy garlic. The waitress was friendly but not very attentive. I understand when you are out for a nice dinner with a spouse or date that you would want to make your dinner an event at the prices of the dinner. I was alone so was not going to take the time a couple would. I was asked after the soup and the 3 bites out of the lasagna, “was it fabulous?” After the the lasagna I said, “no, it wasn’t.” She grabbed the plate and started to take it away. She didn’t ask me why I didn’t like it, she didn’t ask how she could make my evening better. I had to stop her from walking away and asked if she could bring my check. When she brought my check she smiled and said, “Have a good evening”. I rarely write reviews. But I was put off by the blasé attitude. I also noticed when coming back to the hotel that they don’t respond to negative reviews. Like I said, blasé attitude. Bottom line. Would I recommend going there? Based upon my one visit and the prices? No, don’t waste your money.More

Great restaurant and wine bar. Recommended by our hotel. Our server was Laura, who did an amazing job helping us to maneuver the wine bar. You get to try different wines and choose the ones you like. She was so helpful. Food was delicious. I...recommend the Lobster Mac and Cheese.More

Unprofessional!!! THE WORST!! Went to this place Sat 20 Jun, with 9 other people. The Manager who look like she just woke up from sleeping in the back, claimed that someone in our party had ask to go to the bathroom, and said to 'someone"...Im really messed up" she said one of her staff told her, ( BTW she did not witness any of this ) so understandable that if this indeed happen, the person who made the comment, should have been cut off. But instead the manager tells the whole party 'Everyone will not be allowed to drink'. Which, is NOT the restaurants policy, because I ask. The policy as stated by the Manager herself, was to cut the person off who was exhibiting behavior of intoxication. Again after another brief conversation with the Manager she changed her story about three times. So the only conclusion that we could reasonably come to, was that our group of 9 were of "diverse ethic" background. After pointing that out, she quickly gave us 100 excuses of way that wasn't the case. And then proceeded to claim, there were many other races and groups of people in the restaurant. That also was NOT factual at the time we were there. There was maybe ONE other African American, in there besides are party. After canceling most of our orders , I still wanted my pork chops to go, which came out RAW. And for $ 27 i expect the food to be nothing but perfect. Again, in our perception this was another attempt to have us leave the restaurant, because of the Ethic makeup of our group .. In other words we all were a little to Dark to be in there. On a more positive note our server Carson was great, not sure if he had anything to do with us being cut off, but on the surface he was great!! So the funky door, lost out on a whole lot of business that night and money, and also lost customers, due to their 'RACIST Behavior" I would NOT recommend going to this establishment unless you fit their 'Skin Color" un written policy!!!More

We have been dining here since The Funky Door first opened. The "new" location has an amazing atmosphere. The service is very attentive and a surprisingly extensive wine selection. And don't forget the food!

Behind the entrance of The Funky Door, guests are greeted by a swanky two-story wine tower and chic wine bar decor. We made our way to the spacious outdoor patio with our pup, Dak, where we started our lunch with Fiesta Fondue and a bottle...of "Meerlust" from Stellenbosch (because we desperately miss South Africa). The Funky Door has dedicated "bring your Pup to the Patio" events and Wednesday there is a 50% off wine (bottle) special! Before we tell you about the amazing menu, we hope if you visit that you are treated to the most excellent, Ben Parker, who was our waiter. He is professional, appropriately proud of the menu (as if he crafted it beside the chef), very knowledgeable of their extensive wine list, offered exceptional menu recommendations, kept our glasses and stomachs full, and our hearts very happy! After the generous fondue serving, we split the 'San Fran Grilled Cheese' with parmesan crusted wheat berry bread, three cheese blend, tomato, avocado, and a side of bacon and mushroom risotto. Our tenacity extends to the table and we finished strong with a deliciously decadent chocolate cake with cinnamon-maple ice cream that brought sweet tears to our contentment. The staff all adhered to mask policies, the patio offered an abundance of space to socially distance, and it has been a while since we had such a magical and pleasantly memorable dining experience. If you are in Lubbock, dont drive by the Funky Door!More

We had a group of nine and all had excellent dinners. I chose the Pear and Pecan salad with a seared salmon as my entree. The others in the group had entrees ranging from the Baramundi to the Funky chicken to Funky Door Kobe. All...excellent. The service was excellent. This was my second time and I remembered why I was happy to go back!More

This is a great place. Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. The wine list is huge. There was a bit of trouble finding a couple of listed selections, but the staff was able to locate a very nice bottle of a 2009 Bordeaux for a very...fair price. The Old Fashion was good. Steak was large and tasty. Cheesecake was nice, but could have used some sort of topping. The 2 live music acts were very talented and did not interfere with dinner. If in Lubbock, give this place a try.More

Simply sliders, cheese, and a charcuterie board. That’s horrendous! This place is so...overrated! The worst New Year’s Eve dinner ever! Don’t ever go!More
