The restaurant has a good atmosphere, and good food. The service was lacking considering the price, and most bottles of wine only sold by the bottle. But no one really knows much about it. If you want to play the 5 star game then you need to up the server knowledge and abilities.

Thank vym6

Thanks for the 5 star review, but it sounds like we weren't able to offer you a 5 star experience. We do offer several wine-by-the-glass options & also have a free corking & bagging service for unfinished bottles. Hopefully your next visit will be as wonderful as the atmosphere! More

I had eaten at Barron's several years ago with this same group of 4 friends and we remembered it was really good. We decided to go there for our mini-reunion lunch. We made a reservation, but had to wait almost an hour because they were short staffed and they were running very behind. Once we were seated our waitress was... More

My sisters, mom, and I met in Longview for the weekend to celebrate a birthday. We chose Longview because it's midway between Dallas and Shreveport and we have fun anywhere! We ate here to celebrate. I had a the Swordfish which melted in my mouth! The asparagus were very good, but the risotto was NOT! It had a smell. I... More

Looks like we need to check our risotto! Were you able to communicate with Matt that it wasn't quite what you wanted? We are always happy to accommodate, especially when we're able to offer a replacement. I'm glad you enjoyed the rest of your experience & appreciate that you chose Café Barron's for your "midway" point! Thank you for reviewing... More

We went for lunch. It was real nice. The tomato basil soup was really good!! My husband and I shared a sandwich which was great. We also shared a slice of Black Forest Cake which was so yummy!! Our waitress was very good. Very friendly and attentive. We will be going back!!

The quality and portions of the meals, combined with the superb service were the absolute best we discovered so far while traveling to Longview on business. We traveled from the DFW area and are used to fine dining restaurants and to find a restaurant such at Café Barron's was a delight and a surprise. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner tonight... More

It's amazing that Cafe Barron's is only the #5 restaurant in Longview, listed on Trip Advisor, and when compared to the four above it there is absolutely no comparison! Cafe Barron is the only fine dining restaurant in Longview. The restaurant is not only family owned for decades, but year after year providing an excellent fine dining experience, with professional... More

Perfect place to meet for dinner and drinks without the drunk obnoxious crowd. Most recent visit was with several girl friends and we all had a wonderful time. Thanks!

Interior changes and artwork sparkle and excite for the diner's pleasure in the :"New Barron's Cafe"in Longview, Texas. We enjoyed the atmosphere almost as much as the excellent choices on the ever changing menu. I may be a bit partial since my husband works here. But I am also a foodie at heart. I have tried many dishes old and new from the kitchen at Cafe Barron's; but my hands down favorite and the one I encourage my friends ,family and all of you to try is the crab cakes with dill Creme fraiche... Great food. Waitress suggested great wine - Butternut chardonnay. Had the sea bass, very good! Went when they had live music- Lacy and Martyn. Great experience. Will definitely drive from Tyler again
