Step up to the pit get a slab of turkey breast carved off for you. They'll want to slice it inside -- don't let 'em do that. I wish they could dip the slab in a pot of melted dill butter like they do at The Hard Eight. Sides are all good. Cobblers are dangerous. Mens room pretty disgusting.

When in Llano, you've got to go to Cooper's. My favorite is the chopped beef sandwich, but everything the smoke/ cook and serve there is delicious. Just awesome Texas BBQ.

This is THE PLACE to go for brisket when you are in Texas. The brisket, beans and pickles and sweet tea are 2nd to none. My wife will choose the steak or the pork chop. All are really good. Love the casual atmosphere. Just wish it were closer to home.

Best BBQ on the planet! Third time to eat at a Cooper's and wish we had one near home. Loved the open pit with so many choices of smoked meats. The turkey and brisket were my favorites.

I respect that this is a meat house. (I'm rating the food based upon the raves of my family.) Every time my family and I travel to Llano, they insist upon eating here. Sadly, I suffer with cole slaw and potato salad because I'm a vegetarian. The beans have bacon in them, which is completely traditional, but why must the... More

We paid $37 for a 1-meat plate & a 2-meat plate, 1 drink and a cobbler. Never got free beans & I looked for them. The sides on our plates were a small serving & there wasn't much meat, which surprised me for the price. The meat was tough and everything but the cobbler just wasn't that good. The blackberry... This restaurant is quite different. You order your BBQ outside at the 'pit'. They wrap it in brown paper and you take it inside. There you can add deserts, drinks and pay for all of it. They don't give you plates, but rather sheets of white paper that appear to have a waxed surface. The beans are self service near... More

After fishing all day, we stopped into Cooper's on the way back to Burnet. There are a lot of BBQ restaurants in the hill country, but Coopers is legendary. First time there. We went on a Thursday evening, so the crowd was light, but I hear that they get crazy busy at times. I liked that you could see all... More

We are from Wisconsin where you cannot find anything like this nearby. There were 6 of us, & we had everything, sausage, brisket, ribs, chicken, Mac & cheese, Cole slaw, potatoe salad, cobbler & (free) beans. For the 6 of us w/ drinks, averaged $10/person and we had leftovers. So it seems pricey but only a little more than what... More
