My wife and I went out on a day trip to do a few normal things during an abnormal time. It was late afternoon and we wanted to get an early dinner. We both love German food so we decided on the Wurst Haus. We...were seated right away and our server Met us and took our drink order. My wife ordered a peach martini and took one sip and the look on her face said it all. First, do you really garnish a peach martini with a slice of lemon?? I took a sip and you could taste no peach. They took it back and remade it but it was still undrinkable. Our server took our order and we ordered our appetizer at the same time we placed our meal order. It took forever for our appetizer to come to the point we thought they forgot about us. We were the only customers in the restaurant. Yep, predictable. Our appetizer came out a whole two minutes before our food did so we didn’t get time to enjoy it. We ordered the Jager schnitzel with a baked potato. The potato was practically raw, there was no way to even make it edible. We sent them back and just asked for some fries. Getting to the Jager schnitzel it was just a chicken fried steak with mushroom gravy. It definitely was not veal. Besides the poor quality of food, one server was going around with her face mask under her chin while taking an order and serving customers. On top of that she had the ringer on her phone on and it rang while she was talking to the same customers. Unacceptable. There was also no TP in the ladies room either. We definitely won’t go back and perhaps the manager/owner will read this review and make things better.More

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. It is at the corner of This and That street (no joke). It looks like a sports bar with a wall of TV screens playing live sports games. It has lots of different kinds of beers on...tap. I tried the Schnitzel platter. I have to mention that I am German (born and raised) and it is very hard to find authentic and great German food around here, not even in Houston have we found them, so I was not having too high expectations. But I was pleasantly surprised. The Schnitzel was the best I had in a very long time. It was freshly prepared, crisp and just plain perfect. I will be back to sample some of the other offerings in this place. Tip for all who are not very fond of drinking beer... Order a 'Radler' (not on the menu), it's half Blue Moon and half Sprite... Very refreshing!More

Hadn't been here since we moved away 18 years. The new location is actually where my wife worked many, many years ago. Service and food was as good as we remembered. Miss being able to come here.

When Bernie owned the restaurant at the old location, we ate there all the time. Shortly after moving to the new location, we decided to give it another try. The food was so bad I never returned for twenty? years. We had friends come in...from out of town last week wanting German food so we decided to give it another try. The food was so bad our guests didn’t eat or returned half their food. The menu stated the Ruben sandwiches were made with Russian dressing so I ordered one. It came with Thousand Island, instead. It was dry, uncooked; just terrible. I doubt if I see you for another twenty years. We should had gone to Zumgashaus restaurant instead.More

We have been long time customers of this place. They’ve always had an excellent selection of beer and good food. We had noticed a decline in service until our last few visits. So we made it a point to compliment Bridgette, the evening/night manager of...whom is always walking around to ensure the patrons needs are met promptly. This is a big improvement. And The big reason for writing this review on an already good place. So... not only do you get good drinks and food but, now good service to go along with it.More

Our high school class held our 20 year pub crawl with this being the starting location. We were here for about two hours and even with our large party the two waiters helping our group who was mingling around did a fantastic job keeping the...drinks flowing and remembering what belonged to who. Super impressed. Nice job!More

Our party of five went here to drink German beer and have German food. First three German beers were not available (so on to fourth or fifth choices). Shiner was always a great choice but had hoped for imported German. Dinner was something else. Four...out of five got their meals (fifth never came or that last beer). Pasta Carbonara (not German) was the best dish. Hungarian Goulash was so-so. We might come back for beer (hoping more on tap than not). Probably wouldn't eat dinner here again. After a long wait they apologized, a large group was ahead of us so that explains why our dinner service was poor??Also said they wouldn't charge for meal we never got.More
