This is the favorite restaurant of our friends who live in Lake Jackson. We enjoyed a birthday lunch there. The menu is extensive and has a great variety of options. We each ordered something different and it was all good. The staff made it special...with a yummy birthday dessert. The inside has a nice ambiance and the patio is a pleasant option. The Grape Taste is the highlight of our vacation thus far - food wise. The South African Sauvignon Blanc was wonderful as were our entrees. My wife’s Cobb salad with grilled shrimp was superb. My entree was equally wonderful. For dessert we shared the chocolate...fudge pie to which we added a scoop of vanilla ice cream. We finished with coffee which was very good. Service was exceptional. If in the area, you must visit the Grape Taste, I insist.More

If you are not a wine drinker, you will be pretty much ignored by the staff. The food is OK, but not worth the price or the snobbery. I think they think they are something special, but there are many more pleasant places to dine...nearby.More

We had a reservation for 8 (seniors, adults, kids), and the restaurant was very accommodating with all of our needs. Food overall was pretty good and reasonably priced; service tended to be on the slow side, although we were there during a Saturday evening rush....We've been to a few places in Lake Jackson/Clut, and this was by far one of the better restaurants in the area.More

I don't live in Lake Jackson and have wanted to try this place for a while. My best friend and I went last night. The wine service was good but I was extremely disappointed in the food, I will not be back. My friend ordered...the ribeye steak, and wanted it cooked medium. When the water brought it out, she cut the end off of it and it was blue (completely raw inside). When we finally got an employee's attention my friend showed it to her and told her to ask them to at least kill the cow. The waitress looked at it and said, oh yeah, that's medium rare and took it back. It was blue, not medium rare. A few minutes later the waitress brought the same steak back to her. The end piece that she had cut off was done but once she cut off a few pieces of the larger piece, it was then rare on the inside. We sent it back again. The waiter brought the same steak back a few minutes later and my friend checked it and it was medium rare. At that point she just ate it. So after she was brought the same steak back twice, we were not compensated at all for it, they just said they'd make it up to her next time. I've never seen anything like this before, especially putting a steak that has already been eaten off of back on the grill twice. When she finally ate her steak, the veggies were cold because they were sending back the same plate each time. And yes, I said waiter and waitress because we were being helped by two different employees.More

The Grape Taste is amazing! The food in excellent & different. I love trying the different cheeses. I really like Gouda and Drunken Goat. You have to try Oyster Nachos & Southern Fried Crab Cakes. So many interesting & delicious meals.

For the BEST chocolate martini ever.. this is the place. I am a sweet wine girl and they have PAC RIM Reisling that is good for me, yet my friends who are much more advanced than me, enjoy their wine selection. Food choices are slim,...but everything I have had is made to perfection. Seating is limited, but nice weather permits outside dining.More

Nice spot to catch up with friends and share tapas with. The cheeses are so good and it’s always fun tasting something new. Gumbo is good, different but good. I wouldn’t get the cucumber sandwiches again. Not that they were bad, just was t my...favorite. I was expecting more of a cucumber spread and it’s just slices of cucumbers. We visited The Grape Taste 2 times last month. Our other visit we had fried green tomatoes, cheese plates, crab cakes, an enchilada of some sort and the cheesesteak sliders. All very good! Especially them green tomatoes, my favorite. The only one I would complain about was the sliders. They had to much mayo. The staff was great. The atmosphere is nice. I highly recommendMore
