Loved and trusted by our family for many years!

This restaurant has been a Kerrville favorite for many years. We love the food and atmosphere but what keeps us coming back is the sincere kind service of the staff; managers and wait staff are friendly and always eager to please. During this time of covid 19, we see the effort they are making to be safe. Everyone on staff is welcoming to their diners. Everyone seems interested in making sure we enjoy our time there. This is a locally owned business. Mamacitas is a favorite and we trust them. They are like family to us and we appreciate having this business in Kerrville.

Worth the drive!

My wife and I drove an hour and a half to shop locally and then have dinner at Mamacita's. It was definitely worth drive and will return. For a well-established Mexican food restaurant, the fried shrimp were EXCELLENT! The entree was accompanied by a large baked potato and a Caesar salad. My wife had combo plate with a flauta and chicken fajita taco. Excellent as well! The charro beans and rice were all very good as were the complimentary flour and corn tortillas. Very nice restaurant, both inside and out.

This restaurant was recommend by a friend. The food was good and the service was excellent. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. The red salsa was not hot so we got the hot one, and it was too hot so we mixed them together to get it right for us.

From bad to worse

Worst Mother’s Day dinner I have ever had I’m so sick of their we are the only place in town attitudes. $70 for nothing. The food and the service has gotten so bad. It was bad before they closed. It has gotten way worse. Ordered the Pollo Verde it’s supposed to come with a garlic butter sauce and it didn’t. Had to ask for it. Also ordered the RibEye ordered medium rare it came out medium well. I can live with that. Was supposed to come with portobello mushrooms they were out. came with baked potato no butter nothing had to ask for it by the time I got it the cold butter wouldn’t melt. Oh but After I complained the manager came and apologized. Still charged me full price for half the meal but he was sorry. Or so he said. Oh well if you like a pretty building I guess???

Good service, overly salted, lackluster food. Inedible beef in the enchilada. Beans had strange flavor and the “green sauce “ had ingredients even the waiter didn’t know. After eating Mexican food for many years this was exceeding disappointing. Beautiful facility, unfortunate food.

I was on a business trip to Kerrville and wanted good Mexican food. This place has a clever Disneyland feel with a Mexican village recreated inside the restaurant. The food was very good and you could see them making fresh flour tortillas.

We love Mamacita’s

Excellent restaurant! We always start out with the Mamabellas, which are fried portabella mushrooms which are delicious and we have never found anywhere else. Very nice variety of Tex-Mex dishes as well as great steaks. Mamacitas has never disappointed us in the many years we have visited and the service is always outstanding.

Food poisoning

My husband and I ate all the same things all day on June 5th, except I tried this nasty green sauce that we didn’t ask for but randomly got in our takeout order from here. We ate at night and I felt sick all night and threw up a bunch in the morning. I had just tasted the sauce on my finger. For it to be that bad, they must not even try to practice food handling safety. They also forgot some of our food, and my beef burrito was gross (my husband tried it so it wasn’t the source of contamination, just gross in general). None of the food was better than McDonald’s honestly. It all just tasted like grease. I expected so much better based on reviews.

We had not been here in many years and stopped in just after five o'clock on a Sunday evening. The parking lot was almost full but we were seated immediately although it was in the bar area. Our waitress appeared quickly and got our drinks and took our order fast. It took a bit for the food to arrive but once it did, there was a good serving for both. Our tea was refilled timely as was the chips. The salsa and avocado sauce were both very tasty. We ordered a Taco Salad ($12.99) with beef fajita and it was different than others I have had as it did come in a very large crispy taco shell with shredded lettuce and chopped tomato but the fajita meet was in a separate bowl. There was a tortilla chip with a small amount of guacamole on it and a side bowl of queso. The food was fresh and good but most of the fajita meat had burnt tips. The other ordered the Chalupa plate with beef topping ($9.99) and it was a large chalupa with a good amount of topping but did get cold quickly. It also had rice and beans served with it. Our waitress did well considering she was part bar waitress and also serving lots of tables in the bar area. We did notice lots of staff pitching in refilling tea, clearing tables, bringing food, etc. to keep customers served. We could have left sooner but had to wait longer than expected for tab. But we were in and out in about 45 minutes. We would return again but not on a weekend since by six o'clock on a Sunday, the place was packed and people standing outside for a table.

Was good…not great!

Service went to heck in a handbag when the staff started preparing seating for a large group coming. I had the cheese enchiladas & the cheddar was hard & chewy. The green dip or salsa was delicious! My husband said his taco was OK & if you put plenty of salsa on the beans & rice it tasted better.

Great atmosphere, attentive servers, mediocre food at Mamacita’s

Mamacita’s was recommended to us by someone at the resort we were staying, so we were looking forward to delicious Mexican food in a nice setting with great service. The setting/atmosphere was very nice and was scrupulously clean. The hostess and server were very friendly and were attentive to our table. The quantity of food was so large that we needed to-go boxes for quite a bit of what was on our plates, but the taste was mediocre at best and we ended up throwing it out when we returned to our condo. The flan was ice cold with a watery glaze on top. The food was not at all what we expected from a Mexican restaurant in the Hill Country of Texas. It may be that we are just used to the delicious, authentic Mexican food that is readily available in our area and that is why we were so disappointed. To be fair, we did notice other diners in close proximity to our table who seemed satisfied with their meals. Should we ever again vacation in the Kerrville area and be craving delicious, authentic Mexican food, we will not return to Mamacita’s.

Good food and friendly staff

This location is beautifully done inside and out. I truly enjoyed the enchiladas verdes with Spanish rice and charro beans. Fresh tortillas were served along with red and green salsa. The staff was exceptionally friendly, especially William!

Absolutely gorgeous Mexican atmosphere. Service was outstanding. Clean, beautiful beyond words. I have the Taco Salad and hubby had Fajitas both delicious. They make their own chips, which were the best we have ever eaten, fresh and hot. Parking good. High recommend.

Perhaps it was an off night but our food was bland and all tasted pretty much the same. Having visited in the past, we were Disapointed in dinnner this night. Our waiter, Anthony, was very good and the restaurant interior is impressive. We will likely give them another try in the future and hope for a better experience.

Great steaks!

We have eaten Mexican at Mamacitas many times, but never ordered their steaks. A good friend told us we should try them so we did. The chips and salsa were great as always! We both ordered sirloins (medium) with a garden salad and baked potatoes. The steaks were grilled to mouth-watering perfection. The salad was ice cold and very good. The baked potatoes were huge and done just right. Our server, Adrian, was very polite, attentive and knew the menu from cover to cover! Everyone we came in contact with was very pleasant and had been trained by management very well. Over-all great experience!
